Post-Nolan Batman Film

According to James Berardinelli from ReelViews.Net, a source from Warner Bros told him that the studio wants a new Batman film to begin production within the next 18-to-24 months. Also, WB doesn't want The Joker to appear in any Batman movie for at least a decade. They feel his performance is too iconic and they're not ready for another actor to step into his shoes. Which is kind of silly considering that other actors did a valid job with their interpretations of the character. But, whatever. I guess we'll see what develops in the next two or three years. Following WB's time-table, we might get a new Batman in 2015.

I'm optimistic that they'll be able to convince the current cast to return... but I suppose I haven't seen TDKR, so maybe the film leaves it in a place where that's not going to make sense/isn't feasible.

But if not Bale, how about Fassbender for Batman? I've never heard his American accent, but I'm sure he could one off.

Agreed. It's a known fact that Blade Runner was a big influence for Nolan on Batman Begins, so why not do a Batman franchise that outright combines the two? There's A LOT of potential for a Batman Beyond franchise, if you ask me.

Who are some possibilities as the new Batman? I agree Fassbender has to be in the mix. I would say JGL but I doubt they would go with someone that was in TDKR.

You think the general audience would be into a Batman film series that was not about Bruce Wayne, but someone esle being Batman? I agree use the Joker again in like 10-15 years so by that time people will be able to accept a new Joker.

I don't think they should touch a solo Batman movie after these 3. I think they could do a an Justice League thing out side of the Nolan world because it could have nothing to do with Nolans vision. A JL batman could be done because it could be grounded into JL storylines.

I think another idea could be a Batman Beyond movie where get an Old Wayne would work. Its really the only way they could continue. Based or of Batman 3 ending you would likely have to explain a few things. Beyond really is only future that could be spun off of Nolan vision.

In this way if there has to be a new Batman. Black Mask, Riddler , Mr Freeze and even Penguin could be used. Riddler could be a main nemesis if done differently from Carreys verison.

I think they can do more solo Batman films. I would do 4 films this time instead of 3, with Riddler, Penguin, Mr. Freeze and Black Mask as the main villians. Or just go the James Bond route and have a series of films without rebooting after every 3 or 4 films and starting all over again.

That's definitely not gonna happen - unless it's a prequel. The spin-off I'm referring to is with another character.

Besides Nolan said his world is off limits. Which mean the next director has to do his own Batman story, not continue Nolans in a spinoff on a character the majority do not even care about.

They need to do something different the Joker was done twice and Catwoman as well. I say a Batman Beyond movie or Justice League Batman then give him a solo movie. Batman doesn't need a re tooled origin story like they did with Spider-Man. Everyone knows by now why Batman fights crime.

To be honest its not his Superman or Batman. Those characters belong to DC and WB. All that statement means is that no JL until after Man Of Steel which is out next year.

Back on Man Of Steel because likely we won't see a New Batman likely till maybe 2015 when Avengers 2 likely hits.
