Anybody esle think they should go back to using college players only for the basketball summer olympics? Make games more exciting and competition greater. USA with the NBA players have it to easy and its kind of unfair for the rest of the countries.

Other countries have NBA players too. Besides before Coach K and Colangelo took over in 08 they barely won Bronze in 04.

So Nets still after Dwight hard. Apparently a 4 team trade is about to go down also including Clips and Cavs.

Not collage players but maybe NBA players who are Rookies or are alternates. The star players like Lebron and so on don't need to play. I say that because you risk not having enough rest and causeing an injury by playing extra Ball that season.

I think, as ESPN is reporting, Dwight Howard to the Lakers is a much more likely scenario, where Houston is also involved and would receive Andrew Bynum. As much as I hate to see Howard going to the Lakers, this deal gives Orlando a lot more cap flexibility as well as better draft picks. Houston gets Bynum and takes on Richardson's contract, and the Lakers get Howard. The problem with the other trade is there's a lot of hesitation and uncertainty from multiple teams and players, especially Kris Humphries, and ESPN has been saying this deal needs to get done fast or it won't be done at all. Howard to Houston in a two team deal or Howard to the Lakers in a 3 team deal is looking more and more likely.

Morey really needs a deal like this to go through. Rockets have been striking out big this offseason, especially with the idiotic Lowry trade and the likelihood Lin will resign with the Knicks. Bynum is a more desirable trade than Howard for me because though Howard is the better player, I think the Rockets' chances of signing Bynum are far, far greater.

its like the early aughts, lewis and allen are back together again. and for a fraction of the cost of their seattle contracts!

heat will be winning it again i believe. the cast of shooters is damn near unstoppable. lebron won't need to take one ill advised 3 all year, of course he will, but he won't be forced into it at least.

Duh, but that's not how it works. Teams won't make this move if Gasol is being moved, they want Bynum. Not every trade in the NBA believe it or not revolves around the Lakers' best interest.

And I agree Franklin, Allen and certainly Lewis are not the players they once were in Seattle, but if the Heat's only real weakness was their lack of depth they've certainly answered that this year. Lewis can spread the floor at 6'10" and Allen is still a versatile sharpshooter. I don't like the Heat, but it's hard not to be impressed at their offseason.

Heat have a great shot at repeating. And repeating is hard to do in the NBA, not a whole lot of teams repeated these last couple decades.

Just as good as a likely situation to where The Thunder could be back as well. The Thunder can only improve and the fact the heat feels they need to hire more tells me they are not as grand as people assume.

Still they have a good team and can repeat. Also the Nets/Howard deal fell through so Howard not going to Brookyln anytime soon.

Yeah but you never know, he might have a decent season next year and stay healthy. They won't need him and Allen anyways to get rolling until the playoffs. The big 3 alone can get the Heat through the regular season with ease.

Lebron and The Heat Sweep the Espys. My complaint is not about the award show but that The Heat needs to be stopped from trying to out distance itself from lower market teams.
The League is letting the heat get who ever they want while other teams just have to settle.

The league is letting the Heat get whoever they want? What are you talking about? If players are choosing to take less to play for the Heat, then it's not the league's fault. It's the fault of the other teams for not selling their cities/teams well enough.

Kobe Bryant is funny. The dream team would eat this Olympic team alive.

i'm not so sure about that.

this team is 100 times more athletic. would run up and down on that team. and unlike the dream team, this years olympic team actually plays defense. 80s-90s basketball is filled with offense because they aren't athletic enough to play good defense. i honestly think it would be close, give this team howard, rose, bosh, and wade, and this generations would rock them i think.

i think a terrible football team right now would beat the steel curtain from the 70s. athletes are just so much stronger and faster and more prepared these days.

Your are forgetting this speedy guys would be eating blood because Malone, Barkley and The Big players were a bit rougher then in today NBA. Lebron and Durant is the only plus side to this dream team and Paul.
The 2008 team would be more equal to the dream team then this years team. Also a 29 MJ would take some of these guys to school.

As for the football comment back in the day the rules were a bit different and if a today team would have to play by 70's rules then these guys of the sissy league would be desytroyed.

Nah, they wouldn't beat the Dream Team, simple as that. 13 Hall of Famers, 23 championship rings. Too much heart, cohesion and desire to win on the Dream Team. The same can't be said for the 2012 team.
