I really want to see Punch-Drunk Love. I hear nothing but good things about it. Reign Over Me was so damn good. It actually was on my Top 10 list for the longest time. His performance completely blew me away, mostly because I did not think he was capable of that.

hopefully with this flopping, he realizes his shtick as a comedian is over and he leads more towards dramatic roles. I really believe he would have been nominated for an oscar for reign over me if that was released in the fall or late fall instead of March. He can act

I kindly disagree with you after watching this movie. Don't get me wrong aside from grown ups being a FAMILY comedy meaning light jokes, nothing over the top, more then 85 percent of them have been *****, and I can understand, the reason I even started this thread was because I and I'
m assuming some of you at least were praying he'd do an adult comedy and itd be good. Well both these wishes came true, all I say is give this one a chance, its a guys movie, your gonna see some pretty funny dirty stuff. I don't know if anyone else saw the interview a couple years ago on why hes been making light dumb comedies but its because he ended up having kids, he said he felt almost embarrassed swearing and such. I wish I could just give some examples of the movie on how far they go. lol Look at it this way, after this funny r rated movie his next one is gonna be another pg- pg13 grown ups 2. And well personally R rated sandler is miles ahead of.... u got my point. go with your buds have a beer and have a laugh

I saw this, but don't worry, I didn't pay. It isn't as bad as Jack and Jill, but it still sucks. I don't have the energy to write a review, so I'll just say that I gave it an F.

Alright bashing aside, if ur looking for a funny hard r comedy check it out. All of sandlers movies should have been lile this. On a side note we just saw madagascar 3 in 3d and the two circus acts were amazing, whoever put that together was brilliant. Enjoyed this one the most because they kept the penguins in with the whole group through the movie. Love those guys lol
I don't have to see a movie to tell I don't need to buy a ticket - I could tell from the previews and story idea that it's another turkey

You are pretty out of line here. Why are you taking this so personally? This is not the Youtube comments section.

This rant of yours reflects a lot more poorly on yourself than anyone else.

I'm actually really enjoying nine1wing's responses. I'm wondering why he's taking it so personally, as if he was a PA or something on set.

This thread at this point isn't even about the movie anymore... I find this amusing...

I want to buy NiteWing a beer, and listen to his rants about great films, or what he considers to be a 'great film'.

I was hoping someone would catch the fact that I can't buy him a beer, not old enough...there was a joke in there some where. I think. I'm not sure.

Regardless, his points are incredibly hard to follow and the last thing I want is another Vader want to be in this damn forum.

Reign Over Me, that's the one I forgot! That and Punch-Drunk Love were his best, definitely. It's like Jim Carrey and Robin Williams. They'll spend their whole lives stuck in comedy, but once in a great while, they'll release something that completely redefines their careers.

I hate to give nine1wing credit, but this is exactly what he's angry about. Some of the responses are incredibly snobby at a Dracula-level. Punch-Drunk Love is an incredibly boring movie that misses the mark on Sandler's screen persona. Funny People, flaws and all, captured the more "sophisticated" Sandler a lot better. But that's besides the point. We all became Sandler fans because he sang about Red Hooded Sweaters on SNL and then made Billy Madison. Were we young? YES. Does it matter? NO. Comedy is comedy. If it's funny, it works. Jim Carrey challenged himself with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. But are you really gonna choose that over Dumb and Dumber?

Miss the mark? Are you kidding? That's what we're arguing about! If Sandler only sticks to his 'persona', he'll never achieve anything beyond comedy and will remain in this awful movie stage for the rest of his career. Eddie Murphy anybody? And am I going to choose Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind over Dumb and Dumber? Maybe, actually. Same goes for The Truman Show. Who says that just because an actor does comedy for a living, that we MUST respect his comedy projects over anything else?

You're right. Curse my lonely existence, unable to see the comedic brilliance in Adam Sandler masturbating to a picture of an old lady (spoiler alert?).

Absolutely. Any day of the week. So you're saying we should prefer watching a Carrey or Sandler comedy to one of their dramatic works just because comedies are what they mainly do? Um, ****ty logic, there.

How do you do it, Cooper?!
