NFL Surpasses American Idol as Most-Watched Program
After 6 years as America's most popular show, American Idol has been dethroned by Sunday Night Football. Here's the 2011-12 TV Nielsen Rankings:

The fact that 2 Broke Girls is in the top ten makes me sad. No wonder so many TV shows are crap; people will still watch them.

i only watch sunday night football on that top ten list. in fact i actively dislike the other 9.

Football seems to have gotten even more popular after the economy crashed. I think there's more guys laying around home watching TV. The last two Super Bowls had over 100 million viewers each.
EDIT: And for the record, this is the first time in TV history that sports is #1.
