Did anyone else think Boris looked allot like The Macho Man Randy Savage. I was expecting a Slim Jim gag somewhere.

She was his girlfriend. On his way to pick her up for a date, K stumbles upon a meeting between aliens and the government. Remember the hilariously random line, "oh, he brought that tall man some flowers." Then when K retires from the MIB, J makes it seem like K awakened from a coma and hooks up with his ex who never got married. As for what happened to her, in the sequel they said the relationship didn't work out.

ALSO, I don't mind that K had a few booty calls along the years. Especially if one of them is Alice Eve. And let's not forget that in the sequel, it was revealed that K, in William Shatner fashion, banged a few aliens. One of them being Rosario Dawson's mom.

EDIT:

I think the biggest crime here is that Alice Eve somehow turns into Emma Thompson.

That Emma Thompson scene where she is giving some alien speech was probably the funniest stuff in the movie

Just got back from seeing this. Solid movie, but there were some definitely some sloppy plot holes that I think should have been explained.

For instance:

After Boris picks up Griffin at Shea Stadium, how did J and K get to the car so quickly?

And at the very end, why would J and K have still gone to Woo's, if the only reason they went there was for that strange thing that he was going to serve to Boris? If Boris was dead, then Woo would have never bought that fish. Also, one would have thought that more of K's life would have changed after he changed the past. A.K.A. a relationship with O.

There's more but I can't think of them all right now. Oh, and I completely agree with all the positive sentiments towards Josh Brolin. He was spot on in this.I'd give it a 7/10.

Well, color me surprised at how much I enjoyed this.

I'd say I liked this as much as the first film, overall, and it was MUCH better than the second one. Like the first, this one finds the right balance between being funny and telling its story, and then adds a surprising dose of emotionality on top. And that's the film's biggest strength: what it does with the J and K relationship. What Barry Sonnenfeld and screenwriter Etan Cohen do here is treat it as more than just another buddy duo and give it a dynamic that's genuinely moving. I certainly wasn't expecting it, which made the big reveal all the more effective.

Michael Stahlburg as Griffin was perhaps my favorite character in the film. I loved what he did with the character, and he was good enough to make up for the lack of Tony Shaloub and Frank. And not much more time needs to be spent complimenting Josh Brolin, but all I'll say is he makes for a dead-on younger Tommy Lee Jones. Speaking of whom, I kinda got the impression Jones didn't really want to do this movie, since the screenplay only gives him a total of like, 25 minutes of screentime. Jemaine Clement was...fine, I guess, but I never really found him menacing, just snarling. And Will Smith, of course, was good.

The action was pretty good, and so were the make-up/effects.

This is the first surprise of the summer. Sonnenfeld and co. went out respectably.

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
I keep hearing people are surprised but to be honest not so much. Men In Black movies are pretty entertaining summer movies and this time i think Brolin brought in some new fresh blood.
He could easily take over if Tommy Lee Jones decided to Retire from MIB. The best character is Griff. He reminded me of that little alien that died. How i mean is you cared about that little alien and Griff you would have cried if he died.

First...why spoiler tag that? There are no spoilers in there.

Second, we're all surprised because normally, third installments in franchises aren't this much fun.

MIB 3 flopped in the UK. The Brits love affair with Will Smith is over.

I've never been a big Men in Black fan. When I saw the first one, I was coming off of the high from Independence Day the summer before, and compared to that blockbuster, it left me feeling disappointed. And the second film, I don't even remember much. In fact I'm not entirely sure I saw the whole movie. So I was not overly excited to see MIB3, so take this review as you will.

I will start with the strengths, most of which is the plot surprisingly enough. When J has to go back in time to save K, there are just enough nuggets of hidden information to keep us interested in the conclusion. And I quite liked the character of Griffen the fifth dimensional being, who threw some interesting elements into the story.

The humour was very hit or miss this time around. A lot of the jokes fell flat, but some worked enough to balance the scales. There was a point when J was time jumping from the Empire State Building, and when he went through the stock market crash, he saw stock brokers falling with him. I was the only one to laugh in the whole theater. Oh well.

As for the special effects, they were fine enough, with the aliens as gross and globular as ever. But at this point in CGI visuals, it takes a lot to really be impressed, and this film was just another run of the mill effects film.

Here's the major problem with Men in Black 3: it felt small. Considering its the long awaited threequel to a pretty big sci-fi franchise, you would except a large scale affair. But it feels very limited somehow. This is a benefit to the plot perhaps, but a detriment of the overall movie experience. The MIB offices feel like regular offices this time around. The time travel aspect is not explored nearly as much as it could have been. And the fact that there's a full out invasion is almost glossed over. I think they scaled it back too much.

This was an enjoyable film with a pretty good story and ending, but I also felt like it failed a little on providing the necessary experience for a movie like this.

Josh brolin was the best part, the rest I still need to reflect on. Neat ending though

I really liked the story in this one, and I think it was pretty solid from beginning to end.
Josh Brolin did a great job as a young K.
And I really liked the guy who could see the possibilities of the future - he was a really fun character.

Oh, and Boris was really gross with that hand thing - that would make me lose my lunch

8/10 from me

It's amazing how much better the original Men in Black is in comparison to the sequels:

I enjoyed all three movies, but the first one is the only one that's GREAT. It does a wonderful job of balancing sci-fi, action, and comedy. The sequels are comedies first and foremost and that wasn't the right approach for the franchise.

Part 3 was just as good, if not better, than the original. I've forgotten about Part 2 - so should you.

Nothing beats MIB 1. Forever a classic, a jewel from times past. I dont believe sequels surpass the original film. On rare occasions, yes But NOT MIB. *sniff*
