They are filming the pilot right now. If the show gets picked up, it'll debut in September.

Maybe. The new boss at CW wants the channel to be more guy-friendly. So, they are definitely counting on this show.

I'm really not sure about the show though. Superheros on TV haven't really got a good track record. If it isn't Superman they just fail.

With the success of the Avengers, I think they'll be inspired to be more superhero-y. None of that Red-Blue-Blur nonsense from Smallville.

It's weird to think that Arrow is the first live-action comic book adaptation for television since Birds of Prey. Aquaman and Wonder Woman failed to get past the pilot stage. Meanwhile... Heroes, The Cape, and No Ordinary Family were originals that failed to last longer than a few seasons. So... as I said, hopefully Arrow becomes the Smallville replacement we, the fans, desperately need right now.

I'll settle for less if it's good enough. I watched all 10 seasons of Smallville and 90% of the show was horrible.

Aquaman was a the casualty of the WB/UPN merger and deserved to go to series, Wonder Woman I haven't seen so I can't give my opinion. I actually liked Birds of Prey personally though I haven't heard of many people who did.

unfortunately it was the only good episode as it featured Clayface in a Hannible Lecter like scenario
