Default Falling skies

"Falling Skies" debuted on TNT last Sunday and is a new sci-fi show. Basically, aliens have conquered Earth and the survivors are banding together to try and fight back. http://www.tnt.tv/series/fallingskies/

Did anybody watch? The 2-hour premiere (which was actually two one-hour episodes back-to-back) was ok. I thought the second episode was a lot better than the first episode. It stars Noah Wyle and Will Patton.

I thought the creatures were neat looking and the show seems to have some good production value. I thought the first episode was too slow though, and a bit boring. The second episode was ok. I'll keep watching and hope they pick up the pace and have some better stories to tell.

The trailer they showed after the second episode was one of those "season trailers" where they show stuff coming from the upcoming season, rather than just stuff from the next episode. It looks like the show will have a lot going. Looks like it'll get better...only time will tell.

Also, for anyone who watched and saw that "season trailer" did you get the same thought as I that their is another species of aliens on the mothership(or whatever that big-giant thing is?) who are imprisoned? And that they may become allies to the humans? That could be cool.

I downloaded it. Guess what the aliens look like? Yep - more space crabs. WTF is going on with all these damn space crabs. Cloverfield, Star Trek, Super 8 and now this? Come on, these are just miniature variations of the same thing. Maybe some of these directors are really in contact with aliens and they're just prepping us for when they land so we'll know what they look like.

Oh, and if you want to make a future apocalypse movie, make sure everyone who is fighting the bad guys wears fingerless gloves. It makes them look like survival warriors or something because practically EVERYONE in this show has them on.

I take it you didn't care for the show at all, Ewok Droppings?

I didn't even notice the fingerless gloves, but if that's one of the first things a person mentions........ well, the show itself must not be all bad!

I realize it's only been three episodes so far, but this show is kind of boring. Last nights episode was kind of blah, except for when Noah Wiley took one of the alien's prisoner - that was cool. The show's not in danger of me giving up on it for a while, but it better pick up the pace...

I've watched the first couple episodes. Its not bad, I'll continue to watch it for the time being. It's not like there's many other shows to watch.

That's the same reason I have for the moment. It's not really catching me like I hoped it would, but I'll continue in hopes that it'll get better...

It not as good as i had expected it to be so far! I don't know how an Alien invasion can be so boring to watch! I hope the series picks up pace and gets better soon! I have faith!!!

I don't know why I was expecting it to be that way, but originally, I had hoped to see something along the lines of The Road with aliens. At least, that's what I subconsciously wanted it to be. I know the end result is always faaaaar from what we actually want, but hey, a guy can daydream right?

I'm absolutely loving this show so far! The acting, the writing, the action...all top-notch so far! This is one of the few TV shows right now where my attention never wanders.

I like it, I don't love it. I think there is tons of room for improvement and I think they should build more mystery into the aliens, rather than treating them as they are, just there. Not to mention some of the dialogue, characters and situations are too predictable. It bothers me at times.

I actually agree with all of that. My biggest complaint is how predictable this show kind of feels. It's not bad though, I'll keep watching.

So I'm currently four episodes into season 2 right now. The first two episodes alone were better than the entire 1st season combined, lol. And they even did a complete remodelling of the main aliens, as well as an upgrade on the CGI. The story seemed to have picked up too and the characters aren't so damn dull anymore. Still not a great show by any means, but it's not bad anymore. So far so good.

Apparently, they fired the entire creative team from season 1. So, a whole new crew is making the show now.

Yeah, I can see that. There's a whole new feel to the show, so now I know why.
