I'm pretty sold on Batman and Robin taking 10.

Alright, here is my more updated list. This list is only done by ME and me only. So any slack, I look forward to. I have some odd picks here, definitely an odd arranged group of films that I look forward to showing off. I, for the most part, am pretty proud with the results. So, here is my list.

10. Die Hard

RT Rating: 94%
Reason:Great man films are a rarity but the best ones have become essential to manhood. For example, majority of the men on this planet aware of cinema are in love with The Godfather, Bullitt, Scarface, Goodfellas, Terminator, etc. John McTiernan’s Die Hard, belongs amongst the previously listed. It’s a bold, exciting and an entertainingly built film with one of my favorite actors, Bruce Willis at the wheel.

Bruce Willis defies the action role given to him, going against the norm of being God like(see any Arnold or Sly film in the 80s). The man was bloody, glass in his feet, hair all messed up and shirt all ripped off. It was something completely new and that much more entertaining. He brought a charming wit to the role that took a reasonable amount of tension from the plot as well as giving us more to the character. That being said, I thought Alan Rickman’s Hans Gruber was equally entertaining bringing a stylish, yet simplistic villain to the screen. The last showdown between McClane and Gruber was pretty epic. I really bought into the action of the film and how it had me on the edge of my seat rooting for one man, stuck in a really bad situation but not by his cause. It was a pretty simplistic idea just done very well.

A very good choice, but I'm not surprised at all to see this on your list.

Die Hard has got to be one of the most satisfying and re-watchable films of all time. I wouldn't have it that high, but it's not a bad choice by any stretch.

9. Vertigo

RT Rating: 98%
Reason: Alfred Hitchcock has been established as the master of suspense and what better film to dignify that calling card than Vertigo. Vertigo is now only the second Hitchcock film I’ve seen to date but it by far is one of the best films I’ve ever seen. It’s suspense is continuous and engaging, keeping you guessing but also very invested in the characters which brings me to my next point, the characters.
The characters are the main selling point in the movie, hell, you could say the CHARACTER, singular for one, and that character would be Detective John ‘Scottie’ Ferguson played by Jimmy(James) Stewart. He plays a Detective suffering from vertigo on the hunt for a woman gone missing. Stewart plays the role so captivatingly. His performance is best near the end, not in the Detective part like I would’ve guessed but the last act when his obsession for this woman over runs his own logic. I watched this movie during woman problems of my own, when I kept looking for the same things in a woman, those things that made the last one great. This played so greatly into Scottie’s character as the movie in a whole. It definitely made me look at life and say, “Do we appreciate what’s in front of us?” No, we rarely do, we take it for granted and that comes back to bite us in the ass. This film, displays that thought and it displays it well. It’s such a dark, eerie and emotional film but it’s so engaging. An absolute masterpiece.

A superb choice, definitely Hitchcock's greatest film. Although, I'd place it a little higher on my list, but overall, no arguments here.

Die Hard is definitely one of my favs. The problem with making a favorites list is that sometimes I take movies that I've seen more than any other movie, like Die Hard or T2, and have to rank them below films that I equally enjoy but haven't seen nearly as much, yet are all-around better films, like Unforgiven. If I made a list of movies that I've seen more than any other movies, it would be pretty different than my favorite movies list.

Hmmm, an idea for my own Top 10 thread...

You'll be too busy with the 10 movies you've watched the least amount of times.

8. Memento

RT Rating: 93%
Reason: Christopher Nolan is a genius in my opinion. I love this man’s work. He does such a good job of building a narrative, setting and characters that you care about from beginning to end. Memento is no different. It has such an odd paced story and such odd characters but it is completely engaging throughout. The premise is completely original and it engrosses you throughout. If anyone knows me they know I LOVE psychological thrillers, movies that make you think throughout, this film, was full of that.

What really got me was the ending. I can’t really get into details because I know quite a few people haven’t seen it but it was interesting to see how the main character, Leonard had built this entire world for himself. The story in itself reminded me SO much of Alfred Hitchcock. Vertigo was based on letting your lust over take you and lead you blindly into life, this is a similar pattern for Memento. It’s a movie that keeps on giving and I loved every moment of it.

Another great choice. And yes, I know full well that you LOOOVE psychological thrillers...and you've yet to see another fascinating one: Black Swan.

But I love Memento as well. It just barely misses my Top 10 at number 11.

7. Se7en

RT Rating: 85%
Reason: Serial Killers, Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, Kevin Spacey, David Fincher and psychological thriller based genre. Anymore explanation would just be uncalled for. This is an absolute masterpiece.

Number 7 is...Se7en. How appropriate, haha. But I agree; it's definitely the best police procedural film I've ever seen, as well as serial killer.
