I can't even name, off the top of my head, what is coming out next year. A list would probably help.

Tree of Life, yes. Nothing from RedVader's list, though.

Yeah, I understand. I'm just saying. Nothing wrong with your list as far as I can tell.

Well its hard to predict at this point the occasional surprise likes. The Comedy Your Highness i never heard of but looked funny so may see it but nor would i put it on my must see list.
Some movies are filler movies.
I think this years can be a better movie year. Least summer movie wise. The last two summers have been bad experiance compared to to 2000-2008.

In chronological order:

Battle: Los Angeles
Paul
Sucker Punch
Thor
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
The Hangover Part II
The Tree of Life
Super 8
Caesar: Rise of the Apes
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2

I was thinking of putting Captain America, but I need to see a trailer first before I get my hopes up.

I just watched the Tree of Life trailer. Can anyone tell me what this movie's about? The trailer and synopsis didn't give much.

It's "the tale of a Texan boy's journey from the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as a 'lost soul in the modern world,' and his quest to regain meaning in life.."

That's all that Malick has disclosed, but plot is never what's important in his movies. For example, The Thin Red Line is ostensibly about the battle of Guadalcanal, but that wasn't what it was really about.

Nobody really knows, actually. From what I understand, it's the story about a boy raised by parents who have very different views on life. The father wants the boy to learn the cold hard facts of life, learning things the hard way, things like that. His mother is more like the hippy type, accepting things for what it is, so on and so forth. Then we also have another story of the boy grown up, played by Sean Penn, and how he's dealing with these very opposing ideas. SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I'm not really helping huh.

I only ask because there are some pretty *****in' cosmological shots in the trailer and I'd love to know how those will fit into a drama.

They probably don't exactly fit into the plot at all, at least not any more than the stray shots of nature fit in with The Thin Red Line, though they probably do fit in with the overall message.

Me when seen it saw just a boring Brad Pitt movie so the trailer doesn't make me want to see it. Rent yes go see in theater no.
