I want to see a spin-off show about the character who Robin and Louie went to see get buried. It could be about the last year of his half-douche/half-saint life. There's no way in hell someone who has "Sister Christian" played in their honor at a strip club is a boring character that doesn't deserve their own television show.

They loved him because they're the kind of people that could appreciate the good side of a manic depression. And because he literally threw money at them.

My appreciation/total love of this show just keeps growing over time. It's like a modern, twisted take on golden-age Woody Allen movies. The Parker Posey character from last week gave me an Annie Hall vibe, only far more manic-depressive. This season so far isn't as good as the last season, but I still think it's brilliant, and I hope Louie CK starts writing & directing films soon(wait...Pootie Tang?). Keep his model he's got going on right now but expand in to indie cinema or something. He's always been a great comedian, but I never, ever expected what's he's done with Louie. I loved the first two seasons, but I haven't found much to gush about in this one, so far.

Yeah, it hasn't really lived up to the first two, but it has its moments of sheer awesome. I really liked the Parker Posey "Manic Pixie Dream Girl Who Might Be Out of Her Skull" episodes, and I really dug the Robin/Louie/Funeral segment. I even kind of liked Louie's date that turned in to him getting his head slammed in to a window, too. The second half of the newest episode, with the weird kid? Not so much, except for when he insults Kansas City.

I liked the car accident in the newest one. It was all so sudden.
And I think Posey should have jumped. *shrug*

I wonder if the "who gave who crabs?" question will be answered by the end of the season. Was it Bamford? Was it Louie? Or will it be left open-ended and be debated for years afterwards?

Did you have a bowel movement? Was the stool soft, or hard, or would you call it normal?

That was an interesting scene. I have a theory that was a "ha ha, fooled you" to the audience. Because we all knew where that scene was going, we've seen it before: Louie needs crab medicine and gets embarassed by a loud pharmacist...except some woman jumps in and gets the hit instead. It was so weird. These are the small things I love about this show.
Likewise, I really liked Sarah Silverman and Louie watching themselves and Sarah making fun of herself. Another scene you won't find on other shows.

Absolutely. The "small moments are great" thing goes for the Marc Maron scene, too. Louie comes over for the awkward apology, Maron is stone-cold, listening to his old friend try to make up for ten years worth of animosity between them, a scene we've seen on other shows a thousand times and, then: "Dude, you literally did this same thing five years ago. You showed up, apologized, I forgave you, and then you left."

Hah, you knew something was coming after that apology; something weird. And even with that 2-minute hype, it didn't dissapoint.

Was last night's episode the finale? If so... wow!

Interesting episode. My TV Guide called it Part 1 of 3, so I think there's more.

According to my DVR, there's no episode of Louie next week. That's why I was asking. But yeah, super interesting. Little known fact: Louie was among the original writers on Conan. So, I feel like he might be writing from experience. The whole "Jerry Seinfeld is too expensive so we'll get the cheap guy" reminded me that Dana Carvey was supposed to replace Letterman on Late Night. But instead, they went with the unknown SNL / Simpsons writer.

And a funny, CS! related thing I noticed while watching the show: do you remember the poster "halo7"? Louie's agent has got to be his twin or something. They look exactly alike. |

There won't be an episode on the 6th, but there are three more episodes airing in the weeks after.

It made me feel kind of sad too when I exclaimed: "HOLY ****, NATHAN KERCE IS THAT YOU?!"
It's not, or maybe I'm wrong and halo7 is moonlighting as the agent on Louie.

I can't believe there's one more episode. The last talk show episode was perfect finale material.

I hope David Lynch shows up in later seasons, now. He'll be the voice in Louie's head (besides Louie's own) that tells him he's fat/not good enough. Imagine getting haunted by an incredibly mean, cold-blooded, and critical David Lynch.

David Lynch is now a contender for the guest star Emmy NEXT year.

I wish that they'd aired that as a 90 minute special, breaking it into three hurt it for me.

Good last episode, but all three parts had awful use of maudlin music. Don't tell us when to feel bad for Louie.
I only realized that was David Lynch during the credits.

Holy ****, I loved last night's finale. And Liz's last goodbye actually really got to me. Her confusion and her death as the clock struck midnight and joy erupted inside the hospital, causing Louie to flee to a place that makes even less sense than the home he knows. I couldn't look away, depressed as I was, and then you reward me with the weird sense of joy I felt at the end of the China sequence. Bravo, Louie.
Plus: the entire Christmas sequence made me dread having kids one day, especially because I'm 98% sure I'll also be divorced one day. I'm not married yet, either, I just know that I'm bound to have a divorce or two. It's like a family tradition. Now I know why my parents still hate Christmas.
