Call me crazy, but this show might be better than Avatar. Granted... the scope seems smaller since it's taking place entirely in Republic City. But the villain and stakes are so damn high.

I enjoy the Pro Bending matches like everybody else, but damn, I am glad they FINALLY moved away from it. It's cool, and it certainly gave a new twist to bending as a whole. But all that time could've been devoted to other more pressing issues like, say, HUNTING AMON DOWN? Some of the decisions made by the people in this show were really questionable to me. Bei Fong, for example, went ahead with the Pro Bending match despite Amon's threats? That doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense, even if this is an animation on Nickelodeon. From a chief of security standpoint, it just doesn't cut it.

Anyway, I am glad we have to officially deal with Amon now, and we have less of all the mumbo jumbos in between. Like I said, I enjoyed the matches (no matter how flawed it may be in terms of the rules and how easy it is to buy out the referee), but it's time to look at the bigger threat.

Yeah, but then we wouldn't have gotten that awesome scene with Amon attacking the stadium. ALTHOUGH, I guess a surprise attack would have been better. THEN AGAIN... we wouldn't have gotten that backstory with Toph's daugther. So... I don't know. I guess I'm fine with how things turned out.

Glad to see them move on from pro-bending--hopefully they can get into the meat of the Amon story (and maybe some air bending?) now.

I wouldn't say it's better than Avatar yet, but the first 6 episodes of this series are definitely way better than the first 6 of the original. It certainly has the potential though.

By the way, almost no one is talking about the random Korra flashbacks. Those are definitely hinting at Amon's identity.

And I bet one of the "good guys" is on the same side as Amon on this one. That water tribe dude on the council comes to mind, and maybe even the owner of the automobile company (what with all the technological advances). As you can see, I am not well-versed with these characters' names just yet.

Amon is definitely an old dude with ties to Aang. Again, hence all the random flashbacks Korra is getting.

So I got a little behind on my Legend of Korra due to graduations and work but all caught up now.

Episode 5 was cute and I enjoyed it, even if it was a little silly at points. I love Tenzin's daughters, however. Their character designs are great, so like real little girls I've known and know and not these prissy girls I see so much on TV these days. As for love triangles....eh it's gonna happen. So I'll just let it. Poor Bolin.

But Episode 6.....possibly the best episode thus far!! They needed the first 5 to set up the time, space, influences, relationships, culture etc. and now you can see they are getting to the meat of it. Amon has got me worried because I'd say the same thing! Keep the stadium open! Don't let him bully you! He's dangerously cunning and always one step ahead. This is going to be epic. Though I have a theory, and it could be totally wrong and far fetched but.....Is Hiroshi Sato possibly supplying Amon technology?? Is his daughters involvement with Mako a ploy??. Just a wild hunch. Likely very wild. And sooooooo good to FINALLY see Lin Bei-Fong in action! She was awesome! The whole sequence was awesome! More please! I did kind of see the whole Lin/Tenzin thing coming from the last episode but I don't object to it. Can't to be too subtle with the kids. But seriously, great episode.

First off, shutting down the stadium would have been like canceling the Super Bowl because of a terrorist threat. And Amon would have benefited either way. The point they are trying to establish is that he seems to have the control no matter what, and that's what makes him dangerous.

Second, we are up to episode 6 of 26. They have plenty of time to chase and catch Amon. Setting up this environment is vital to making the rest of this stuff work. They did fine.

Also have you all noticed how Korra likes to favor her Fire Bending in close combat? Aang tended to be a bit more judicious and used all elements (as he learned them anyway) fairly equally, with maybe the slight advantage toward Air Bending. I just find it interesting that Korra gravitates toward the element opposite of the culture she was born into. No judgement, just an observation.
