it was a road victory, montreal just played the incredibly boring trap, hopefully they do not advance, for the good of the entire sport. sure it may get victories, but its the most boring hockey to watch. why do you think the nhl started to fold when the devils started winning cups?
hell even better question, do you even remember the devils winning any cups? of course not, nobody watched or remembered the boring trap.

even worse than i feared, impressionable young minds actually think the trap is/was good hockey.
i am sorry for your upbringing adventhybrid.

haha i was just messing around. i just hate the trap so much, i don't know why it makes hockey so boring to me, but probably because of the lack of actual scoring chances and the fact that its not even dump and chase, the trap just dumps and falls back. its gamesmanship (which i love in all facets) but i can still hate it.

The trap makes for incredibly boring hockey... but it also wins games.

Pens beat Montreal at their own game. Love it.
Tonight should be interesting, and I wouldn't be surprised if Montreal came out swinging. If that happens, the Pens should be able to unleash a little offense. |

sucks for vancouver fans, looks like luongo is back to being the soft goal master he has been his whole career in the playoffs.

Aside from those two things, the Canucks have just been playing too passive. Since that 2-0 lead early in the second game and the relative easy way they won in the first one, they must have thought to themselves that they didn't need to give 100 percent. That it was destiny. It's just brutal watching them run around in their own end at times and what appears to look like no hussle to get to the corners. And it's not because Chigago has speed either. Their legs just ain't moving. They had better turn things around fast tonight or they'll be in a pretty big hole that will be almost impossible to escape. |

Oh and I forgot to say. Why doesn't the Pens just dump and chase to get by that trap instead of always trying to carry it in. They have bigger players than the Habs and should just pound the hell out of them after they dump as well as gain puck posession where they can do their stuff.
I haven't been able to watch any of their games but it's just what I heard from friends at work who have. |

I'm pretty tired of Montreal's pathetic gameplan. Basically, just get into the fetal position and let Halak do all of the work.

well its not that simple escape, the habs are running a type of box trap and their rotations are excellent. but i would like to see more dump and chase, i fee like if bill guerin was out there, we would have a veteran presence realizing what to do with it.
can only hope for better next game. race to 2 as bylsma would say.

great win. sad to see them get a garbage goal late, but still pretty awesome. lets take this game 6, not have to worry about game 7.

That was such a bull**** goal. As far as I'm concerned, Fleury had the shutout.
