Default Official 2009-2010 NHL Thread

NHL Hockey is almost here. The preseason is winding down and I'm sure other hockey fans here have an opinion on who's going to take home the cup this year. Feel free to discuss everything Hockey, including the up-coming 2010 Winter Games taking place in Vancouver this Februrary.

capitals got gutted in the offseason, i doubt they are the force they were. surely will win their pathetic division, but no one else will make the playoffs from there.

although i thought the fla panthers were just a year or two away... but they kept boumeister so they are screwed.

Very excited that the season is kicking off soon! How do you guys feel about Brashear being in NY this year? He knocked out one of their players last year in the playoffs... so that's kind of interesting.

Hoping my Avs are respectable this year.

Losing Joe will be a big loss and still haven't been able to get a good goalie since the King left. Hoping we don't end up like Philly in that way. Gone are the good old days of Sakic and Forsberg, Blake and Roy... cup potential.

The leafs seem to have improved. Finally get some tough defensemen to allow there goalie to win them some games.

i am worried about montreal actually, got all the able bodied wingers, if their defense holds up and their goalie issues clear up, could be scary good.

I think Carey Price will come back in full force. If he doesn't then it doesn't matter... no goaltending, especially in the playoffs, equals bad year.

anybody have opinions on the latest Balsillie news?

Sounds like he's giving up on the whole thing. A team in Hamilton would be awesome... for Canada of course but sad for Phoenix. Maybe my numbers are off but I think Phoenix has been regularly losing millions each year. Ultimately the team will have to move and maybe Balsillie will get his wish then.

diablo you see that the pens stole one of your players? got borque jr. was supposed to make the team for the capitals, but they had to get rid of nylander beforehand, but borque wasn't passing waivers at all.

and the promos for the new season are AWESOME.
