I doubt it really is 375 mill, but it could be. From reading the reports they were planning on like 220 mill, but complication lead to higher cost.... Though that is just unusually high. Nothing even comes close. I can't think of any movie cracking more than 300 mill let alone 375.

I do like the part with brolin playing agent k, but other than that, meh.

This movie will probably barely make 200 million in 4 weeks if it is really, really lucky

there is no way this movie is making that money back

the trailers have been anything but impressive, and after the second movie, I'm sure people will still have a sour taste in their mouths regarding this franchise

For those who didn't read the article, the movie cost about $250mil. That seems to the the maximum studios will go, but look what good it did with John Carter. The extra 125 million has been on marketing.

Guess when you have the worst movie posters ever, you need every marketing dollar you can spend!

From the sound of things they were in too deep. There were serious production problems, and supposedly Will Smith was quite troublesome on set. They couldn't get it finished without spending more money, but they had already put in too much time and spent too much resources to turn back.

That is what I was reading just now. They might recoup a lot of it later with blue ray and tv sales, but they arent going to get it back from ticket sales.

A little ironic that smith seems to have been in a bit of a downfall since his scientology nonsense started

Empire's review is up and....it's pretty much exactly as we expected. In short: it's a mess.

I am hearing that Battleship is getting better reviews then MIB3. Could Battleship Actually be a hit and MIB3 a dud.

I thought the trailer for battleship looked ok, even though the idea of it being based the game (somehow) was really stupid. I won't see it in theaters unless people say enough hood things about it.

Probably no more stupid then POTC being based off of a theme park ride. I felt the same way as you just said about Battleship being about a Game when POTC i first heard about it. Especially after Disneys other Theme Park based stinker The Haunted Mansion.
