Post Canada's "possible" Coalition Governemtn

Here's a critical question for all us Canadians out there.

What does everybody think about the Liberals, NDP and Bloc Quebecois possibly overthrowing the current Conservative government?

Extremely angry. The liberals may have ensured that I never vote for them ever again. If they do this without putting it to a federal vote, I will consider it a coup.

Exactly.

It's a constitutionally approved coup.

This angers up the blood. The Governor General had better not go along with this.
I as a western Canadian feel like my government is giving me the finger. I felt comfortable with the conservatives in power during this economic problem, but with the liberals in charge I will worry greatly. This makes me nervous.

I guess they can legally do this but what about the public vote? I mean we just had a vote and Harper won. Yes, it's just a minority government but he won. Canadians believed enough in Harper's economic plans and now we just have to accept Dion saying things like he'll be more effective with his? the whole thing is backwards using the separatists to run the country.

Nice, welcome to Doomsday territory.

And someone want to bring me up to speed with this whole coup business?

Basically in our recent vote we voted in the Conservative party but they only had enough votes to hold a minority government in parliment (albeit a stornger minority than they had last time). The Liberal party has gotten together with the New Democratic Party (with the added support of some seperatist buttheads called the Bloc Quebecois) and are trying to dissolve the minority government by forming a coalition government putting the two parties (but mainly the Liberals) in charge without a re-vote. Therefore rendering the whole voting process a moot point because apparently they're going to do whatever the hell they feel like anyways.

Current news has Harper (the PM) going to the Govenor General tomorrow to try and stave off this attack by having parliment take a breather until January. Rumour has it that if his request is not granted he'll basically resign as PM (which is complete bull).

In the meantime Molsons remains plentiful and back bacon remains tasty

Wow, that sounds pretty ballsy. God knows what would happen if such an obvious political takeover occurred in America. Hopefully it wouldn't be the liberal Democrats taking over for their sakes, the Republicans have all the guns.

Doomsday, you must have missed the results of the recent election. No shenanigans were needed for the liberal Democrats to take over. And please try to ratchet down the rhetoric...please?

Anyway, I hope the Canadians don't screw with their healthcare system in all of this. Too many Americans depend on it.

...and your comedians as well.

I think a clear decision that would stop all the madness is to make me Prime Minister. It's not that much more crazy then what's going on.

Who's with me?!

My point is....it's not like Republicans won this election only to have Democrats go 'Ehhh, don't think so,' and pretty much oust the governing party, or vice versa, like the Canadians are doing. The Democrats did it fairly and legally. The gun comment was a joke. You misunderstood me.

Parliament has been suspended. There will be no vote of non-confidence until January, giving them time to work something out. And if not, then its more likely to actually have a new election.

the media is a tricky thing to view which side they are on. The media mostly leans the liberal direction. The pundits and the writers do at least. But the people that sign their paychecks are ultra conservative. so they both have their hands in there somewhere. But in the end, the media really just cares about ratings like any other money giant.

Maybe if we're lucky it was all just a fiendish plot to get an extended Christmas vacation
