hope so.

my sister told me something that she heard Orlando Bloom doesn't want to do a fourth. i would rather see more of Sparrow. i think it would be cool to see Sparrow search for the Fountain of Youth, possibly a new crew, maybe a few familiar faces.

Can't f**king wait! And if the story really comes from the book "On Stranger Tides", it sounds intriguing!

Whoopi-****ing-doo!.... The Pirates movies should have ended with the third! They might as well just call this new one "The adventures of Jack Sparrow"! He's the only reason to see these flicks, and YOU ALL KNOW IT!

I am interested/excited. 2/3 of the Pirates movies were good and the third was actually pretty decent in my opinion (save a few of the stupider plot points...looking at you giant voodoo woman). I expect they will put the focus on Sparrow or a new main character since Will's storyline is pretty much over. Hopefully putting all of their energy and concentration into a single movie will help in the long-run.

Like I said, if this 4th film is an adaptation of this book, it should be interesting. I've always been fascinated by piracy and nautical lore/mythology, hence part of the reason why I love these movies so much.

I'm cautiously optimistic for this one. AWE was so bad - fool me once shame on you, fool me twice...

The first is the only good one in my book.

Personally, AWE is my favorite of the three, but I'm well aware I'm in the minority (or perhaps AM the minority) on that one.

The problem is they went full on trilogy with these movies, because it's become so trendy. They should have made the movies seperate from each other, with a new simple story each time - just like the first (and the best) was it's own movie. Just like the indiana jones movies are seperate from each other. but no, they had to go matrix on them; dumb movie.

More like they had to go "Lord of the Rings" on em... Ever since those movies it seems like people want to make continuing stories with no end...

Hey man the Rings movies ended nicely and the Hobbit was a story before LOTR so thats why ist being told. And lets face it most men as boys were either CowboYS and Indians. Cops and Robbers. James Bond or Pirates.

yet only Rings have succeeded and others have failed. Any film that films back to back has not lived up to the hype. Matrix sequels, Pirate sequels...

Well see how Harry Potter 7 will turn out...

I thought the first one was pretty great, it was exactly what everyone wanted out of a Pirates movie. The second one slowly drifted off became too long and highly overrated. I still consider it 'watchable'. At World's End makes me doubt my humanity. When I watch that I want to kill small children. The plot is stupid, slow and the pacing is incredibly bad. I doubt I'll see the fourth one unless dragged to it by the parents. Keira Knightley was the best part of the last two and she's not even going to be in it.

Well Potter is different. They aren't shooting two sequels back-2-back, they're shooting just one movie then cutting it in two when they're finished.

Also, the Potter movies are not made from scratch. They have the well-written books as their main source of story and plot. POTC was made from taking an amusment park ride with little to no story and made a trilogy out of it. Personally, I too would've liked to see each movie as a separate adventure.

Or at least have them conceive a trilogy story from the get-go, and not rush it when the 2nd movie goes into production. I think that's what anyone wanting to do a trilogy should do.

I hope they stick with the idea of creating something new. Anything besides the track they left off on with AWE.

While I really liked the "idea" of the Fountain of Youth, I agree that a new direction is needed.

I enjoyed all three films, so I'm open for a fourth. Will and Elizabeth's story has pretty much run its course, so any chance of either of them returning is slim. A entire movie with Jack and Barbossa doing what they do best sounds like a fun time.
