I decided not to make a review thread for my guess not many saw this film besides myself. I can see where many would have considered this movie boring for not alot of people like thinker movies like myself.
Its not go special effect blowem ups. Its got a low budget indi film at times but it was well acted by its too leads. Actually teh whole cast was solid in acting wise. I like best the twist at the end i did not see Who was the killer before it happened. I didn't think it was teh character set up to appear to be the killer. A good film. This is what young actors should see to better ther acting craft. Al Pacino and Robert Deniro our still 2 of the best in the Buisness. If have seen this and like it please comment i prefer people who liked it but people who didn't are welcomed too. |

I saw the trailer to it. Let me guess: The guys killing all the criminals was one of the two cops the whole time
. I'm guessing it was Al Pacino, that way De Niro can shoot him and get revenge for the way he ended up at the end of Heat. If my wild guess based on seeing the trailer is right it would be a thurgholy Donald Kaufman-esque ending.

decent movie. I knew who the killer was before the movie even started i mean is it really that hard to figure out. De Niro was way over the top as if the writer wanted to see the De Niro of old and decided to write his lines with the F word being every other word. Kinda funny watching it. Though I gotta give props the Heat esque ending with the lights and chase and Niro killing Pacino this time

Well it just seems like on most boards that any movie is good if any is a summer blockbuster and movies that are well acted but have low budget are bashed by some geeks. I just like sometimes a change of pace movie where things are slowed down some what.

Yeah I love "thinker" movies, but this one looked awful and the reviews coincided with that notion. Plus, how intelligent can a movie with 50 Cent be?

I did happen to see this but never got around to writing a review for it.
In a nutshell, I liked it more than I thought I would. Sure, it has the usual cop cliches and conventions pop up, but what really made the movie for me was how surprisingly well-written the script was, but most of all the chemistry between De Niro and Pacino. It was great seeing them together in a full movie, even though it was another cop thriller. And yeah, I also guessed the identity of the killer. I'd give it *** out of ****.

I thought it was the women to be honest. She seemed odd and maybe thats how they tried to spin it. I say most would not see the spin after seeing there buddy chemistry as cops if ask me.

i don't know what a thinker movie is, but if you ask me, this guy who made this and also made inside man seems to be very 1-dimensional. From the way the begining of this movie is described it sounds a lot like how inside man started. With the main character in the "present" talking into the camera giving a vague explanation and introduction of himself then have a nice long flashback of what happened only to end it where it began.

A thinker movie? Hmmm. Well Memento is a prime example. I'd say 2001 is as well. I assume really that he means suspense thrillers that have twists like Se7en or Primal Fear or The Usual Suspects. Also I think we can throw Battlefield Earth into that category as well.

in that case, i hate thinker movies. i liked se7en and the usual suspects. i didn't like memento. and i assume battlefield earth was just a joke. and i have never seen primal fear

I am refering to cop or detective movies as well. You know trying to figure who done its. I also imgaine Dan as far as term thinker movies go teh otehr meaning Seven is a good example but You could also put The Da Vinci code in there or Silence of The Lambs.

The Da Vinci Code makes you lose brain cells.
And yes Battlefield Earth was definitely a joke. |

yeah, that would sound better fit to what they are talking about. When people say "thinker" movie, i would say a movie that takes an out of the box perspective on something. Something that is different than anything people have seen before. i think most people call those "break through" movies though or maybe something else. "thinker" doesn't quiet explain it.

This was not art. Pacino and De Niro were good in this. But the story was a little dull. Pretty much, this is a storyline we've seen many times before and executed better.
