I like when they are talking about taking a stand and defending the complex and Hudson wants no part of it.
"Let's just butt out and call it even, man! What are we even talking about this for?" "What do you mean they cut the power?! How could they cut the power, man, they're animals!" "Aw man, and I was getting short. Four more weeks and out. Now I'm going to buy it on this rock! It ain't half fair, man!" Ripley: "How long before we're declared overdue can we expect a rescue?" Hicks: "17 days." Hudson: "17 days?! Hey man I don't mean to rain on your parade but we're not gonna last 17 hours!" Last edited by brutus; 08-20-2008 at 06:35 PM. |

The banter between Vasquez and Hudson during the film was pretty funny.

Alien is one of the greatest sci-fi movies out there which just happens to have horror overtones. Aliens was a good action film and had some good chemistry between the characters, but it just doesn't beat the 1st IMO.
The acting was better, the score was better (Jerry Goldsmith's opening music in Alien was absolutely effective) and the premise was better. I guess younger people mostly prefer Aliens and its more accessable and action-driven (rollercoaster) story but the more mature and geeky prefer the realism and sci-fi glam from the 1st. I enjoy them both though and after a few viewings am even enjoying the prevasive dread that Alien 3 evokes as Ripley loses everything she's gained from her travails. |

Agree completely. Aliens is pretty generic imo. Alien on the other hand, i love it.

I dont think Aliens was generic in 1986. Millions of movies try to be like Aliens. Video games too.

Halo owes a lot to it, as well.
