Default Alien or Aliens

Just saw both movies for the first time in a long time this weekend and had forgotten how amazing they were. I was just wondering which is your favorite between the two.

Alien was great but Aliens was just incredible. Amazing action, suspense, horror,one-liners, ect, and plus the queen was awesome.

Alien is one of my favorite films.

Aliens is good, but I've always felt it was overrated. Take that one SnoBorder! ;)

No I didn't. Haha I think we both knew when we saw this thread that this meeting was indeed inevitable.

Actually had the opposite effect on me. Alien was good but thought Aliens was a bit better. Amazing action ride of a movie. One thing I liked about Aliens(and Alien) was the aliens look real and not the CGI crap that was used in the more recent movies.

The action in Aliens was top notch. The setting was creepy and James Horner's score was incredible. The queen was amazing, particularly on its first appearance at the nest and when it rips Bishop in half when you think there is going to be some happy type of ending.

Can't forget Hudson. "Game over man, game over!"

I like Dracula's answer. The movies have different goals and both deliver wonderfully.

That's true, the same debate is sparked over the Terminator movies. The first one is dark and suspenseful, the other is all out action. It's a matter of preference where both are amazing in their own way.

Aliens. Alien is a great and classic film, the fact that it is just "Jaws in space" always kinda bothered me a bit though. The atmosphere was great, but it hasn't aged well.

Aliens however has aged very well IMO and is maybe the most bad ass film of all time.

"Maybe you haven't been keeping up on current events but we just got our asses kicked pal!"

Hudson had the best one liners.

"This little girl survived six months without wepaons and training! Right?"
*Newt turns and salutes Hudson.*

Some might say I'm being biased, but Aliens. However, BOTH are classics and both are two of the greatest films ever made. The only other franchise that can really say that is The Godfather.
