The show's funniest moment, by far.

Really bizarre episode. Good, but... weird. I'm starting to get the impression that the show took too much time off.

I almost nominate "he had chewing gum on his pubis!" and Betty capping those birds. Lawnmower is great too ("somewhere in this business this has happened before"). Or, that scene from season 4 where Don and Lane get hammered and go to the movies.
Plus: I actually dug this last sunday's episode, but a lot of that had to do with the way it was structured/that amazing sequence of Roger at the party. I've always loved it when this show plays around with conventional structure. I was also grinning from ear to ear when Roger discovered the symphony in the bottle, not to mention they were listening to the best song off of Pet Sounds. Yeah, I thought Sunday's episode was brilliant. As Brock mentioned, the structuring was great and it allowed each character's piece to end up feeling almost like an entire episode on their own. Loved it.

Now that's the Mad Men I remember. Brilliant episode. Especially the ending with Roger being happy and Don being sad.
Also, forget the lawn mower. My new funniest moment is when Roger opened and closed the bottle while on LSD.

I actually thought that whole LSD section was kind of boring, I much preferred the Peggy and Don sections.

Wow, I said this about Community and The Office last week, but this was my favourite episode of the season yet. Might be one of the best episodes of the series, for me.

In regards to "At The Codfish Ball": great episode. Megan is slowly, slowly growing on me -- especially with nailing the Heinz account. But I'm starting to understand what people mean about something missing from this season. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great season, but when I think about it compared to the previous four seasons, it just feels like they're listlessly moving. I still think it's (arguably) the best show on television, and in the running for the greatest TV drama of all-time, but I'm starting to get the feeling that they're going to become like Narcissus recognizing himself in the water -- they recognize their own greatness, and now they're just navel-gazing. Or: I'm reading far too much in to it.

Might we be seeing the old Don soon? Not necessarily at work because he's out of touch, but because we're getting his old marriage again. When Megan says he's all she ever hoped for he hesitated before saying "me too." Seems like this newfound faithfulness and devotion is gonna be short-lived. This is also the first time we've seen Megan cooking for him. Don loved the wife that worked with him, had his interests, not an actress who he doesn't believe will succeed. He didn't want another trophy wife, not in that traditional sense.
And as Franklin said, that elevator scene was chilling. Something's going to happen. Don is incredibly observant so naturally he's going to notice that even though the doors opened up the transport wasn't there, but I wouldn't be surprised if somebody else didn't notice and just walked right through to their death(s). After all, Don did not tell anybody about the malfunction. The Beatles at the end was a series highlight for me. $250k well spent.

weird choice...

Why would a movie about some pitcher going to the Pirates from the Cleveland Indians be noteworthy enough for a..........wait...............

When FranklinTard said "Indian pitchers" he was actually referring to pitchers from India, nothing to do with the Cleveland Indians.
Once I realized thats what I meant I was really surprised that Hamm was "the lead" since it sounded like the movie was about two people of Indian ethnicity. As it turns out Hamm is playing the white sports agent who discovers them though. http://deadspin.com/5909206/jon-hamm...pirates-signed

Kind of like the story of Michael Oher through the story of some white woman?

Or the story of the US's first all-black volunteer army, told from the perspective of their white commander, or the story of the first all-black basketball team told from the perspective of their white coach.

For a split second I got worried. Until The Kinks came on.
That was a hell of an episode. Has Peter ever been more of a jerk than in this episode? Adultery excluded.

The show has been on fire lately, damn near every episode has been perfect. When the season started I was thinking Game of Thrones would be THE show of late spring and Mad Men would be a nice chaser, but now Mad Men is the main attraction and Game of Thones (while still awesome in many ways) has been the under-card of my Sundays.
