Damn. I was going to post this. But yeah, Lucas isn't writing. I think he's retired and moved on to the role of producer. Pretty easy. Sit back like a Hutt and make money. LOL

Anyway this looks really cool and the Sci Fi nerd in me can't help but jump up and down at the sight of this. This show looks like it's going to be kick a**. And it's cool that the 1 hour and 40 minute season premier will be in theatres.

I dont really like the animation style they are going for. Too goofy imo.

I do agree, although I'm sure it's low budget. Would be a fine exception for it's television show. No doubt they're just trying to cash in before the series starts.

I'm not a fan of the animation style either. Lucas has gone on repeatedly about how it's like nothing you've ever seen and wants to push animation forward, but it looks alot like video game rendering. That said, I think it probably is a big step forward from the notoriously shoddy nature of CG animation on tv.

But it's not bothering me that much. Half hour episodes and more Star Wars on the big screen? I'm up for it.

I have a feeling that this movie and TV series is going to be better than the live action prequel movies. I don't know I'm getting this Star Wars vibe from this production.

im kind of wishing it was a joke...
the animation is not looking so good. and i think... i dont know how to explain it. its almost watering down star wars (ps. i know this is going to get a lot of comments like "oh and the prequels didnt wash it down?" so on and so on)
but there should only be the six movies, and if another movie is made it should be episode 7 with 8 and 9 in the wings (and im not even sure i want that). but now we're gonna get into a whack-load of SW movies just pulled out of anywhere? im not sure i like this....

Well I'm not sure that's the case. This is about as much of a movie as the family guy movie is. As in it looks like it's going to just be 3 or 4 episodes shown together.. just on the big screen to kick the series off. This is Lucas wanting to blur the line between cinema and tv production which I think is kind of a cool thing.

I doubt there'll be any proper spin-off movies produced any time soon.

However since this is going ahead it seems a good chance that they might do the same kind of thing to launch the live action series in a couple of years.

It's the storylines that I'm interested in. But Lucas made a huge error. His partner should've been Disney. Not Warner. That way if they released this movie Disney could always slap the name 'Pixar' on it to insure its success critically.

The animation doesn't impress me, the story doesn't either.

I am sick and tired of the prequels storyline.

They need to go forward but instead they keep going back... always back.

^For some reason they believe no one would be interested in the Post RotJ era. Ironic that one of the most popular games, Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast, is set after RotJ.

It seems like every movie nowadays is an hour and forty minutes.

Weren't most of the 2007 blockbuster movies almost 3 hours long?

That seems reasonable to me, especially for animated movies that are usually 20 or 30 minutes shorter than that.

I think it's more Lucas wants ROTJ to be THE END. Heroes win, evil loses. I know the story goes on forever in the expanded universe but it does sort of take away from the sense of achievement you get from the end of the series, knowing that there's just as much war going on.

True. That is very understandable on Lucas's part. But there is a big gap between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back that hasn't been shown a lot or explored a lot. While the Clone Wars is being milked to death, that long gap between A New Hope and Empire that shows the Galactic Civil War just isn't receiving any attention( except a few minor books). There's also the gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope but that's going to get covered in the live action series.

Yeah no offense but this is old news to anybody that didn't know. This series will be released for T.V. but you will be able to watch it in theathers. Looks okay, the 3d could be a little better.
