Because Jesse started a feud with the guys who killed his "boy." So, Walt had to step in.

And what entailed "stepping in?"

I don't recall, actually.

Walt is stupid if he doesn't get Saul's help. Since Saul is a lawyer for seedy types, you'd think he would have a contact for someone to knock off what's-his-face.

The season ended with Walt meeting Gus in the middle of the desert and saying, "you have two options. You either shoot me now or you keep me around as your cook." Gus acknowledged that he needed Walt so he agreed to keep him around. But behind closed doors he wanted Gale to master the formula and then kill Walt and Jesse. But when Gale started asking too much questions, Walt got concerned and devised the plot to kill Gale.

And THAT'S how the season ended.

It doesn't matter what show it is, I remember jack squat when a new season of a show comes around. I couldn't even remember Bryan Cranston's character's name.

I tell you Jibbs, its not that hard to remember!

But you know what is hard to remember? THE ****ING PREMIERE DATE!!! AHHHHHHH!!!

...I need to record the rerun.

Yeah, I've watched about 47 other shows and been making an album since I watched all that. Cut a guy some slack?

Sorry for the third reply ...

I actually didn't have a problem with that, I was more concerned with the blood seeping over to Walt's shoes, lol. I was a little grossed out by the acid in the barrel with the body, though. Gross.

I don't have much work to do at my day job, so I watch a LOT of television here. And I missed a few shows while plugging away in college, so I am just now getting caught up on some. I still have to watch The Wire and the Sopranos.

EERIE.

If you recall, I just finished BSG. I reached the end of 30 Rock season 4 since that's all Netflix seems to have available instantly (@$$hats). I am also going through Mad Men right now. I'm on the last episode of the 3rd season.

I don't like having to wait for episodes of "Breaking Bad." I liked earlier this year when I was able to zip through them. The fall seems to have the best run of shows, though: Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire, Dexter, Walking Dead.

Anyway, I stand by my opinion that Walt would be wise to use Saul for help to deal with Gus.

Okay so here's where I'm at. I JUST finished watching the season 3 episode; Fly. I will say this; that was one of the best character driven episodes of Breaking Bad that I've ever seen. The sheer brilliance of the episode was just put together so well by Walt and Jesse's dialogue moments. It was just perfect. In just a week I've managed to fly (no pun intended) through season's 1, 2 and now I'm about to put in disc four of season 3. Already got the first two episodes of season 4 on my computer waiting for me. Brilliant show, I am very happy that I got into it.

Is that the one that takes place in the lab and they're trying to kill a fly the whole hour?

Yeah. It may seem slow going and/or boring given that the show doesn't progress in story throughout the episode at all, but... I found the character dialogue between Walt and Jesse to be some of the best moments in the entire series.

Tolkien ... your complaint is one I share with the current season ...

I honestly think that I was spoiled by watching the fist three seasons on the internet, one episode after the other. My experience was that the series is extremely slow-moving, but I was told to stick with it because it gets better. This is true, but it is stil excruciating on a week-to-week basis. These past two episodes have been pretty underwhelming. The build-up and what they hint at is very dramatic, but I feel they are really stretching it out a little too much.

I think I might stop watching, wait for the season to end, then watch on sidereel/megavideo.

That episode was guest directed by Rian Johnson, the director of Brick and The Brothers Bloom. Pretty good as far as bottle episodes go.

As someone who watched and enjoyed both seasons of Treme, I don't think I'll ever be one to complain about this show being slow. I mean, if you want story progress and closure that's (usually) what movies are for. The whole point of telling a story like this as a serialized drama is that the producers can take their time and show the story develop in more detail.

Yeah, but out of the multitude of shows I watch, this is the only one with the pacing issues. Dexter, Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men, etc., they all have what I would consider a great pace that gives me enough meat each week to make it a hearty meal. I just find Breaking Bad a bit paltry.
