i was surprised to see galaxy quest on there. i liked it, but i didn't think other people liked it that much.

and i was surprised i liked some of the stuff in the list. Sci fi isn't my thing, but i found plenty that i actually enjoyed

Quantam leap
Futurama
heros
ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND
total recall
terminator
back to the future
aliens
ET
blade runner
and the first matrix was alright

since there was so much i actually liked in that list, i would say that it isn't really a sci fi lovers list. i think the sci lovers would have some more hardcore choices there rather than all the mainstream jazz

EDIT
wouldn't you think that the list would have stuff like Day the Earth Stood Still, donnie darko, and others? And i am not a fan of it....well, not a big fan, but planet of the apes? isnt the origional like a sci fi classic? I like it more than i admit i guess, but it def should be in the top ten on that list imo

I adore "The Day the Earth Stood Still," and even the original "Planet of the Apes," to a lesser extent, but they came out more than 25 years ago, which is probably why they were left off of the list.

No Minority Report? One of the greatest Sci-Fi movies ever IMO

I liked the list a lot. Too many to choose from to just have 25. One that I didn't see on either list was Alien Nation. I great groundbreaking movie that spawned a series.

i was disappointed. they just listed the shows. i thought it was greatest moments, you know, things like Luke and Darths lightsaber fight in empire, exo-terminator rising from the flames and so on.

I was glad to see Lost on there, but I've never really thought of it as Sci-Fi.

Holy ****, I want to meet the people who made this list. Was it me? Did I do it in my sleep? Everything is on it.

Eh, but did Matrix have to be #1?

It was on the list of the ones people thought should have been on the list. Along with Minority Report, Stargate: SG1, Farscape (which I would have liked on the list) and Babylon 5 (which SHOULD have been on the list).

And Ian I think they meant moments as in Sci-fi broadcast history.

Well as I hardcore fan () I liked that list. It had the hardcore (Blade Runner, Star Trek, X-Files) along with the accessable (Furturama, Back to the Future,) and the inspired (The Matrix, Stars Wars: Clones Wars, Firefly, Quantum Leap).

Making something accessable and understandable to the masses is part of what makes something memorable. It brings new blood to the genre.

The only parts of the list I didn't like were how high Battlestar Galatica was (over Star Trek??? I'm sorry about I sorely disagree), and at first Starship Troopers, but it's placement and reasoning I think I kind of understand now. It's just that the book it so much more and so much better.

Yeah, Stargate: SG1 should definitely been up there.

Good list over all, although I'm not a fan of the Matrix being #1 (even if it is just the first movie), and I think Serenity/Firefly should be higher up.

The problem with this list is that they didn't know whether they were judging based on overall quality, or impact/recognizability. Thus they ended with a weird hybrid of both.

Back to the Future and the Star Trek entries should have been higher...I mean, Blade Runner is good, but come on.

And sorry, no matter how good it is, a TV show that absolutely no one watches should not be number two, over some of the most iconic movies/shows of our time. I've never watched BSG, but it is really better than Star Trek TNG? So much better that it overcomes the severe recognition handicap to place several spots above?

i only saw #25. I dont belive in countdowns, that give every damm entry its own page. I dont neeed to give eonline that much attention.

just watched the super mega greatest ultimate blade runner collectors ed (i made that up but its the latest cut apparently)

bits chopped off the end!

Im appaled! (not really, no one likes blue skies anyway)

At the risk of sounding like comic book guy

Most ridiculous list ever! (kidding)

Although in terms of accessibility and mainstream (pop culture) - spot on.

I agree, that really is an annoying trend that we've been seeing more and more of recently. A LOT more ad revenue for them, but quite irritating.

I would have arranged things differently on that list and added a couple that didn't make the list

This list has done what most list are meant to do, and that's start a discussion. As far as groundbreaking moments in Sci-Fi entertainment history, I think you should have the original Battlestar Galatica on there instead of the reprised series. And another series that wasn't mentioned that I think should be on the list is Space 1999. In movies, I love the Alien series. My all-time favorite movie(s). You cannot put the second Alien movie on the list without putting the first one on there. Alien was a timeless classic movie that was so ahead of it's time!! And what about Close Encounters or 2001: A Space Odyssey?!?

Here's another one that might get a chuckle. What about the TV series ALF?!? Wouldn't that classify as Sci-Fi? lol
