I wouldn't say Paul Haggis wrote this one or the last one, Neal Purvis & Robert Wade did. Paul Haggis stops by to make it good.

Yeah, that's true. I just have a knack of saying it is Haggis because he usually gets the publicity for writing CR and now QOS. I usually see interviews with Haggis talking about the script and the writing process more then Purvis and Wade. So, I have been used to saying Haggis.

There have been some rumors about QOS. Moviefone has an article on it, saying which are true and which are false:

Quote:
"Amy Winehouse will definitely sing the Quantum of Solace Theme"

This rumor is FALSE. While the producers said they're weeks away from deciding, we bet retro chanteuses like Winehouse or even newly hip-again Shirley Bassey (who's sung three 007 themes) are possibilities. Forster, inspired by 'Dr. No' and 'Goldfinger,' says his Bond will have a "late '60s, early '70s thriller" sensibility.
The rest can be found Here

hehehe, sorry Doomsday. I'm only around 5'9 myself. I just know that prior to it coming out in theatre, a guy at work kept mentioning the fact that he was the shortest actor to ever play the role and true fans didn't like this. And after I asked him how tall he was I was like "I really don't think anybody's gonna make a fuss about it unless he was like '5'6 or something".

Just seemed like a silly thing to debate at that time.

Hahahaha. Damn right it's false.

Man, that'd be funny if Shirley Bassey did another one, but how good could her voice be? I'm still holding out for Muse.

And seeing a Dr. No/Goldfinger Bond would be sweet.

Yeah, that would be pretty cool if the movie turns in the same vein as those two.

Solace filming details:

Quote:
More details emerge of `Quantum of Solace` filming in Panama last month:
The "Quantum of Solace" production crew departed from Panama last month, but news has just reached MI6 of filming that took place at La Isla Cabra, near Colón in Panama.

According to local reports, the production team used a number of locations such as the Bay of Columbus, Jetty Pier 3, Goat Island and La Guaira.

On Goat Island, a scene was filmed in which "Bond and a companion arrive at the pier hotel in a small boat, and leave to walk on the pier. A friend of Bond's jumps on a jet ski and depart ovet the water."

The scenes filmed at Goat Island will double for Haiti in the movie.

In La Guaira, the shoot took place on Thursday 20th March with a sequence in which "Bond walks by the parking area of the hotel, took a car and leaving."

Preparation for these scenes took place one week prior to the date of the shooting, as reported by the manager of "B22" locations in South America, James Grant.

For the filming of the scenes, the production reportedly called for the removal of palm tree and a tree in the old Union Club facilities in the Old Town.

At the airport, permission was sought to take two palm trees that are located in front of the building back to its original position after completion of the filming.

For the filming in Bay of Columbus, the crew added some plants on the banks to help make the transition to a location later in the film.

A new location has been added to the known itinerary of the filming of "Quantum of Solace" in Italy this month. The "Tower of Talamonaccio" (Torre di Talamonaccio) in Tuscany will be used for some interior filming.

The high-end villa can be rented out by tourists for around $9,000 per week. Click here for pictures of the building and interiors which will be used in the film.

According to local press, James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Camille (Olga Kurylenko) will be seen arriving at the location in a yacht, to meet with Rene Mathis (Giancarlo Giannini).

The principal actors will film the sequences, but the exact date of shooting has been kept from the media. Reports in Italy suggest that the locaiton was chosen by producer Barbara Broccoli.

Filming is expected to only take place inside the tower, and reports indicate no extras will be required.

I was in Italy recently and they were shooting the new Bond flick in a very small town I visited. At first I just thought there were a lot of white vans with tinted windows and numbers hanging from the rearview mirror, but then I saw a lot of security guards and traffic directors wearing nametags with 007 written on them. Then we walked a little further and saw a lot of video cameras, film trucks, and makeup stations. Didn't see any of the actors, but the crew looked hard at work setting something up. Was very cool to see! I'll link one of the pics as soon as I post it on my facebook or something.. Becase I don't think you can upload on CS..

^^This was it!! I went up the tower and when we passed the main square they had it all set up. Very cool! But if it was a secret being kept from the media, then I'll be first to say it was the 2nd of April I believe, and they were not actually set up around the tower, they were set up on the streets about a block or two away from the tower.

Quantum of Solace Filming at Garda Lake
Source: Marco
April 16, 2008

Scooper 'Marco' tells us the Quantum of Solace production has hit Garda Lake in Italy and he sent along a few pics. Here's a brief report that does include a spoiler:

This afternoon, I went to Garda Lake, where the cast of Bond 22 is shooting! Today they've shot in a tunnel, in a village called Limone Del Garda! The set was [guarded] but I've talked with 3 members of the crew, very kind. They've told me that this morning they've shot an amazing accident sequence!! But that's not all. When I was coming home, I've seen, in a little place near the location, 3 other members of the crew, with one of the seven (yeah, 7!!), Aston Martin DBS's [used in] the movie, with the lowest part modified in order to install cameras.

Sweet

An Aston Martin DBS has been fished out of Italy's Lake Garda after it plunged into the water while being driven to the set of the latest James Bond film, reports the AP.

Producers of "Quantum of Solace" say James Bond's iconic car was being delivered to the filming unit in heavy rain on Saturday morning when it went off the road and into the lake in northern Italy.

Italian state TV has shown footage of the smashed, black car being hoisted out of the water.

Producers say the driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Thanks to `MiniBond` for the alert.

Me thinks somebody thought they'd have fun while driving a Bond car.

Filming update

Quote:
Quantum of Solace Filming Update
Source: BadTaste.it
April 22, 2008

BadTaste.it has sent us this great update on the filming of Quantum of Solace at Garda Lake in Italy:

Just wanted to give an update about Quantum of Solace filming at Garda Lake in Italy, and about the accident occurred some days ago.

The Aston Martin which fell into the lake was going to be used for a press conference Sunday, it wasn't one of the Aston Martins they used for filming, so this didn't slow down shooting.

During Sunday's press conference in Tremosine, Dan Bradley - who's the second unit director - said that the scenes at Garda Lake will be 11 minutes long in the final film, but it depends from the weather: they hope the next days it will be sunny, so they'll film more scenes and the final result will be longer, otherwise they'll cut some scenes.

The scene is described as the FIRST SEQUENCE of the movie - 15 minutes or so where we see a spectacular car chase and then a gunfight. This scene is being done by a Second Unit, directed by Dan Bradley. It's a car chase along the Gardesana, a famous and beautiful road around the lake (which is the biggest lake in Italy), between Malcesine, Limone and Tremosine: they closed the road and mounted some cameras on some Aston Martins. The scenes involves 40 stuntmen (half italian and half european), six doubles of Daniel Craig, many Aston Martin DBS's (we published a video of the camera-car) and a Black Alfa Romeo 159 (a famous Italian Car), which was the Bad Guy's Car.

They're going to shoot in Gargnano and Limone until April 25. Daniel Craig is resting in London after filming in Siena and Chile, but he'll be available to shoot some reverse shots if the weather is good. It's almost sure he'll be in Carrara between April 25 and May 13, where they'll film some important scenes in the very famous quarries of marble, with a flying camera (I think they'll use cables).

"15 minutes." I was right. There was no way the opening sequence would be a half an hour.
