Default Blades of Glory - Review

I just came back from it and I loved it. If you like Will Ferrell comedies or even if you like Jon Heder movies. Then this the movie for you. I went in thinking this probably is not going to be not that funny as other movies by Mr. Ferrell but I ended up enjoying this more then Anchorman and even Talladega Nights.

I pretty much laughed throughout the whole film and all the skating scenes very pretty impressive in there comedic way. By the way Jenna Fischer is VERY HOT!

I never thought she was pretty in The Office but damn did this movie prove me wrong.

Go see it if your in for a good laugh, I sure enjoyed it a lot.

8.5/10

I enjoyed the movie aswell. I didn't think it beat Anchorman but it certainly beat out Talladega Nights as far as Ferrel movies goes. The movies jokes are generally one note but it stays pretty much consistently funny (there is a small bit of dryness about 30 minutes in but it only lasts a few minutes). One thing I applaud it for is that unlike most Ferrel movies and recent comedies in general it does not suffer from "Way too long-itis" and seems to end at just the right time. All in all a suprisingly funnier flick than I expected (I thought Ferrel had finally done too much) Definitley one to add to the Ferrel greats collection.

Just saw it last night, and loved it! It was just so funny! Although the ending kinda threw me. Will definetly took it to a new level as did Heder. This is without a doubt going in my DVD collection, great movie!

I enjoyed it. In the begining it was kinda of stale for only around 20 min or so. But around the second half it started to pick up steam and laughs came more frequently. The part that really made me laugh was the very end of the film

when Will Farrell just out of no where said lets get out of here, then they take off flying out of the arena into the clouds
I just about lost it when I seen that.

I loved this movie, I thought it was ferrel and heders best one so far. Ferrel had some great lines, lol did anyone else notice the bloody band aid on the toilet paper paper part. Everyone in the theater was laughing throughout the whole movie. I'm glad these two got together. Now I hope Ferrel will hook up with Jim Carrey.

I loved it. It's just the silly funny you expect from will farrell and jon heder. Like zoolander, it makes no sense, but hey its funny and you root for them. I love Amy Poehler and her husband Will Arnet in this, they play bro and sis partner skating team. It was great and I couldn't stop laughing.

The down part of this, not enough William Fichtner and too much of Jenna Fischer. She's just not that funny, she's like a zombie. But kudos for her going out there and letting us laugh at her. I love the office as well.

Yeah, Ben stiller help produced this people, so go for it!

Saw it last night and loved it! I honestly didn't want to see it, cause it looked like a paycheck collector for Ferrell, and i saw very little promotion for it. I only went and seen it cuase it was no 1 and made 33 million, so I figured it may be better then I thought and it was. It got no where near the tremendous exposure that Talladega Nights got and I liked it better then TN. The laughs rolled out constantly and both Ferrell and Heder were good together.

The whole cast did a good job, not many weak spots save for that Jenna Fischer. Her role just wasn't well developed for me. It moved along at a good pace. I recommend it. I don't know why the studio was lax on promotion, maybe they thought it wouldn't perform as well as other Ferrell films.

Very funny and I loved the ice skating cameos.

Plus, I've got a newfound crush on Jenna Fischer now.

This movie looked horrible from the commercials, but I heard from a bunch of people it's hilarious. I might have to check it out at some point.

also, was there a director??? seriously, this movie was so sloppy.....

I liked the film. Like most comedies, it's a movie that will be forgotten over time but it was better than Ricky Bobby. Heder wasn't funny, more proof he's a one hit wonder but Ferrel was good and it was well written. The scenes of the skating and then the chase on skates were hilarious and unlike most Ferrel movies, this one didn't have a 10 minute dead spot, especially at the end.

Just got back from seeing this and I was pleasantly surprised. I laughed more than I thought I would, especially when

they had their first skating scene together with all of the gay poses. HILARIOUS!

Overall I wasn't expecting much, which may be why I enjoyed this as much as I did. I give it a 7.5/10.

Rated it an 8 on the polls as I thought it was slightly closer to 8 than 7 out of 10.

One of the best sports comedies out there. They follow such a specific formula but they perfected it here. Each "stage" was just the right length, the movie lasted the right amount and the laughs were mostly balanced. Takes a bit to setup the movie but once they've established what's happening its time for some laughs.

Ferrell wanted to be a sports journalist when he was in college but he saw how hard it was to break into the field and then went into stand up comedy and then improv; he enjoys being part of a group more and not being alone. Which is true here, the other castmembers dole out their share of laughs. This is the first movie where I've seen Heder but he didn't annoy me he played his role as the germaphobe pretty boy sissy virgin. Ferrell was the highlight as the alcholic sex addict rebel of ice skating. Arnett and Poehler pull off the evil more skilled competition who are always up to schemes. Craig T. Nelson as Coach; inspired casting. Michael Scott's dream comes true with a sexy Pam 3.0 er... Jenna Fisher. William Fitcher must have had a scene cut out at the end, how could you not have the douchebag watch from the stands or TV in frustration?

If you liked Anchorman, Talladega Nights you'll like this, its the comedy to see this spring. Its not as outrageous as the other two films, a bit more toned down but in someways it strengthens the film by not going into Anchorman territory. And it doesn't feel like Ferrell is out of gas, he still finds ways to make you laugh. 8/10

I'm glad I forgot all the cameos like Rob Corrdry, Luke Wilson and Andy Richter; I read on IMDb and they left my mind well before I saw the movie.

Ironically Heder injured his ankle, while Michaels injured his in the movie, and filming had to be delayed for a few months.

I don't know if anything can top the SNL Jim Carrey hosted back in Will's first season. Its great watching that seeing Adam McKay (Anchorman/Talladega Nights director) be a annoying audience member asking Carrey questions and then Carrey trying to give Ferrell mouth to mouth in a jacuzzi. Plus the other sketches.

Saw it on wensday and I found it too be much funnier than I expected. I loved that Heder actually didn't remind me of Napoleon Dynamite at all and he created his own unique character. Oh and Will Farrel's character was a hilarious jerk. Glad to see Jenna Fisher looking good

I didn't want to go but my kid saw it and told me to give it a chance.

I went to the Movie theater that serves beer and burgers during the movie. Once I had a couple of brews in me, I took it for what it was worth - A stupid movie that had no social redeeming value.

At that point I loved it. I haven't laughed that loud that long, with a movie in ages. The beer obviously helped.

Farrell was actually likeable in this movie. Heder played a very pure hearted skater that had all the attributes of skating down to a science. His use of costume was very believable (in sarcasm).

I heard more guys laughing hard than women. What was appealing to me was all the countless hours I have sat watching skating with my wife, trying to stay awake, and watching the routines with heder, and then with them as a pair. That was worth the ticket.

7 out of 8

Saw it today, good parody of ice skating. 6/10

But I'm starting to think I'm not really a comedy person, which is why I have none in my DVD collection. Well except for animation.

I thought it was funny. When I read the review about this movie in Entertainment Weekly, John Waters made a good point, we should remake the bad movies not the good ones. Waters said that they should remake Ice Castles 2...a drama about a blind ice skater.

I like comedy, but owning comedy movies is different. I guess it depends on how funny the jokes can be over and over, which isn't as easy to watch repeadetly as say the lobby shootout scene in "The Matrix". I definitely see what you're saying, though Kung Pow never gets old
