I bet this is better than Happy Feet, that movie was aimed at kids below 12 and people with an IQ below 50, whearas i bet this has stuff for adults too.

I showed my brothers friend (he’s is 10) this trailer and I convinced him that penguins actually used surf boards instead of swimming.

Why is it that EVERY time one of the big animation studios releases an animated flick with a theme, another one rolls around and nearly rips it off completely? This happens EVERY FREAKIN' YEAR.

Quote:
I don't know why animation studios tend to release movies with similar characters (Bugs Life & Antz, Finding Nemo & SharkTale, Madagascar & The Wild, Cars & Route 66, Flushed Away & Ratatouille) But to write one of them off just because it was released later is obsurd. Generally the themes and the actual story are completely different. Nemo was about a father and son, SharkTale was about a loud mouth who got into trouble with the mob, they just both happened to be set under the sea. In fact I would say that the Wild and Triplets of Belleville had a lot more in common with Nemo than SharkTale did. Happy Feet was garbage from a storytelling standpoint. The last act was painful. Personally I'm looking more towards Surfs Up than almost any other animated film this year, because its a different style. Its filmed like a documentary and that's refreshing. Just stop with all the "What a ripoff" talk, its nonsense. Last edited by heney; 04-09-2007 at 07:43 AM. |
