They Can't be called the "Greatest Team In The World Today" because they haven't actually won the champions league yet. I'd maybe wait a little while before being cocky. You've got two games to win before you can say that just yet.

Congrats with the win, Smokie!

I'm just happy that it was a Dane who scored the first goal

Hey man, at least your gracious in defeat. I hate it when theres so much sledging going on. I still would like Chelsea to win the Premiership, but they won't. I like Chelsea as a team but I think Mourinio needs to disappear from English football. His attitude and lack of respect totally stinks. I've never known a manager like it. He's the worst loser I've even seen. Benitez praised the efforts of Drogba, Kalou and Wright Phillips and commented on Chelsea's great players and all "The Crap One" could do was say Chelsea where better at everything and Liverpool where rubbish and a little club. A little club in the final. Give it a rest Jose.

Argh. Man U played terrible in their defeat against Milan. I've nothing good to say about them. Rooney was not involved, Wes Brown f-ed up, was Ronaldo on the pitch? I'm pretty disappointed. I'm glad Liverpool made it through, though. Go Liverpool!

Man U beat Man C. Anybody see the game? Ball clearly intentionally kicked Ronaldo while he was down. I was impressed by the class and character shown by Ronaldo. He was consistently fouled over the course of the game, but came away with the winning goal off a penalty shot. Pretty good game. My hope was a 2-1 Man U victory with Beasley scoring Man C's goal.

Who thinks Chelsea will beat Arsenal?

Chelsea will beat Arsenal.

You have to understand though about Ronaldo. If he doesn't take that disgraceful part of his game away (diving) he is gonna get kicked and stamped until he does. He's brought things on like that himself from being a very deceitful dishonest footballer. Don't get me wrong, he's the best in the world right now but if he continues to dive and fall over he's going to continue to get the crap kicked out of him. He needs to cut it out now.

I might be flying to Athens three days before I fly to America!

God, that'd be so awesome to get to go to the final; I'm jealous.

I hate diving as much as the next guy and agree with you that CR is often guilty of it, but there's no excuse to stomp on a guy while he's down. Also, I think he has cut down on diving considerably over the last year.

Chelsea-Arsenal in about an hour...go Arsenal!

EDIT: ALL HAIL MANCHESTER UNITED

^^Good luck with trying to see the game in Athens...you lucky bastard

^Yeah, I'm supporting Liverpool through the rest of the tournament, though. English football before Italian football, you know. I wasn't born a fan of Manchester, I just started watching them about 4-5 years ago and have become a pretty big fan. Also, It's hard to connect with the rivalries when you live 6000 miles away from anyone else who really cares, being the only one you know who watches any of the games.

That's why Americans get beaten down over here when they talk about Football. It's the rivalry that makes the game and it's important to understand it, especially if your going to watch it in a pub. Once you choose your team, they're your team 'till you die. No questions asked. I should by rights support Hull City but I chose Liverpool when I was about 7 or 8 and a Red 'Till I die I remain.

It's a little weird for me seeing you with a Man U and now a Liverpool Avatar, but I totally understand your point. It's a different cultural outlook on the game.

^I can understand that. If I was in England, I wouldn't pretend to be a ManU fan because, while I am, it is not to the same level as the fans over there and it would look bandwagon-ish and be insulting.

I cannot relate to the rivalries. Even if I wanted to, I can't; I would be kidding myself (I wish I could, though, rivalries really enhance the overall experience. Maybe someday I'll live in England for awhile and acquire that aspect of the game...). It's the same with Yankees/Red Sox fans. People on the west coast can be fans of the teams, but unless they've lived over there, they can't really understand the rivalries and I feel embarrassed for people who pretend to.

like smokie said its just mad to have a man u badge then liverpool. In my eyes thats just not right, i do live in the city and grew up with the rivalry and really hate united so i could never understand how someone could like both. Even if united were the only english team left i'd still hope they'd get humiliated

^Understood. A big problem for me is that I watch the England NT and root for them. After that, it's difficult to not continue to support some of those players. I've got to separate National games and Club games, I guess. I assume that in the next couple years that I'll grow fonder of United and in so doing I'll "learn" to dislike Liverpool, Chelsea, etc.

haha "learn" to dislike Liverpool , Chelsea. Forgot your city rivals Man City lol. We will prob never agree on football on many issues as we come from different cultures regarding the sport. In Liverpool football is a part of everyday life not a day goes by without me talling about it/ seeing highlights or games etc.

Find out 2mora whether or not i get a ticket for athens, making me nervous

I don't think I've got a ticket. I'm not too upset though because it would have been a very close shave for me to get there, get home and catch my flight to the US. At least I'll get to watch it on the big screen with no interuptions!!!

I've got to say, I'm liking this Eagles guy. I've seen him play a total of, like, 60 minutes now, but I'm impressed.

What are you going to do when you move back to the States, smokie? We're not exactly loaded with nightly soccer matches.
