I can't change that once you've started it.

I think you should ask this question in a month or two once all the Superman hype has worn off a bit. Anyways, I still enjoyed Batman Begins more even though Superman was better than I thought it was gonna be.

I can't really say at the moment. I'll have to see Superman Returns a few more times for me to decide( I saw Batman 4 times).

And yet Batman is winning.

I still don't get why these two films keep being compared to eachother. Can't we just enjoy both of them withouht having to choose between them?

^Yeah, it is kind of hard to compare Batman and Superman since the two movies are like completely different in almost every way.

It's like Strawberry ice cream and chocolate ice cream. But I think we can all agree that Batman Begins and Superman Returns kicks the crap out of the Fantastic Four, Dare Devil, and Electra.

If we didn't compare them like we do everything else, God would kill all the first-born children on the forums. I don't know about you, but I don't want that on my conscience. But I chose Batman Begins, but I might be a bit biased. I've always been a big Batman fan, and that movie was just too good.

I think a more fair poll would be Superman vs. Superman Returns.

I don't understand what the problem with this poll is, a lot of people compared the two in the review thread for Returns so I thought I would see what the numbers look like.

Well, I would still say Batman Begins because that is the only superhero movie I've ever seen that really humanized not only the hero, but everyone else in the movie as well. Even though Superman Returns is great and it is the best Superman film I've ever seen, Batman Begins is just better because of the human characters, the realistic qualities behind everything (including the action), and the fact that it was the first perfect Batman film. Superman Returns is the first perfect Superman film. Anyway, I think I'll post my top five comic book films:

1. Batman Begins
2. Spider-Man 2
3. Superman Returns
4. V For Vendetta
5. X2: X-Men United

Not really. That thread is 8 pages long, and it seems like a bit of an undue hassle to go through and manually count how many people preferred Supes, and how many preferred Begins. You can see why I figured that a poll would be more practical.

Well I still think the 1989 Batman is still on top when it comes to comic/superhero movies. Batman Begins is close, but it lacks a lot of what made Batman so good, mainly a really menacing, dastardly and slightly over the top villain. One reason I dig Superman Returns is because it's a direct sequel to the original series and stays loyal to the characters and events. I'm not sure which one I like better of those two.

I dunno, I just had too many problems with Returns for it to be above Begins.

I don't know, I didn't really find a lot of problems with SR. I just don't think it was as good as Begins. Hell, I even liked Spiderman 2 over SR, but I still thought that SR was pretty good.

Well, you know, I didn't mind watching it, but as droid said in his review, I don't really have a strong desire to see it again.

Haha, really? Batman Begins and Superman Returns are completely different in almost every way? I fail to see that at all. I'll agree when someone makes a "The Deer Hunter" vs. "Office Space" thread. Otherwise, I'd say the revival of two popular and old comic book heros have plently of reason to be compared.

that's a good idea. I mean if you would have put out a "Sin City Vs. The Godfather" thread last year. Who do you think would have won?

Yeah, but I mean look, it's not like the Superman hype is doing anything.

you've got it all wrong, the superman hype is doing everything. everyone who voted so far actually likes superman better, but they were so overwhelmed by it and haven't taken it all in yet. if we were to wait a month or two the results would be more accurate and we would see that SR is the preferred film.
i voted batman, and i'd do it again too.

Or I know. Which is better? Superman Returns or Batman Returns?
