the scares in this movie were ****ty pure ****ty, they were trite and boring and repetitive.

in the beginning i loved that Fatal Frame reference and some of the other references while playing the game. The movie should of focused on the gaming element ot his MOVIE and it should have much more Satire when playing video games.
that is why i enjoyed the first 30 minutes.

Some interesting gaming lingo and what not.

This movie just should of went all out with the game and as i said... they should of ended with them playing the video game. Like when they kill her in the video game that is how you break the curse and what not.

And whats with the horrible dialogue? and they killed the funny guy waaaaay to friggin early in the movie and they killed the charachters way too fast without them ever working together again much.
And when they do work together it's pure ****ty and boring and stupid beyond beleif.

i really liked Franki Muniz's charachter though, he was the coolest.

one of the most horrible horrible scene is all those dramatic piece of crap scenes. that had no good chemistry whatsoever. There was this one scene where they were running away from the ghosts and the main charachter rescues the girl and there making out and not making pace of them trying to defeat the boss.
Horrible horrible horrible.

They should of played the game more cause the game IS MUCH MORE INTERSTING THEN THE WHOLE PREMISE OF THEM FACING THE GHOST NEAR THE END.

I RATHER THEY FINISH THE GAME AND ACTUALLY TRY TO SURVIVE THE GAME. Hey lets put this game to pause it's going to play by itself anyways... yeah... thats why it's better to play the game and break the curse that way.
Atleast thats what i would of done.

And the rules of movie are out of whack the charachters somehow walk like 100 blocks when smoking a cigg wtf was that ****.

tons of Potential in this movie since alot of the stuff at the beginning was actually more about the game which is what i was looking for and more gaming satire and lingo which wasn't in the rest of the movie.

sorry that my review isn't that organized and well done right now i'm just mad...

When i first watched this movie i didn't have much expectations. Well and this movie still failed to meet some of my expectations i had for the movie.
The movies Editing was just plain bad, tons of plotholes, and the acting... don't even get me started. All the scares were edited with flashes of random images which made the movie even worse.

at the beginning you see the main charachters best friend die playing the game therefore leading to the same death he had in the video game. before his death i liked his reference to the actual gaming world it was small but i enjoy hearing video games and video game lingo in movies in general. So then he dies, his friend goes to his funeral meets this girl who will obviously become the love interest of the movie has his friends bag. So then they talk with some of the most boring dialogue ever and his friend decides to go to his friends workplace which is this gaming center then they find this game and decide to go to the main charachters house.

The charachters are overall very cliched you have your main charachter

Hutch- the hero and the rescuer of the random love interest through the movie with no chemistry and along with stilted dialogue

Abigail- Hutches lover, a useless hopeless girl who is barely important in the movie

October- probably one of the best actors though still not much she is Phineuses sister, not to mention the sexy goth girl

Phineus- one of the best charachters throughout the movie since he is the only one who was funny and made the movie actually better to watch but dies way to early through the movie making the movie boring since the horror elements in the movie sucked.

Swink- played by Frankie Muniz the best actor in the movie, he is also known as Malcom in Malcom in the Middle. Swink is the braniac of the movie the smartest one of them all.

The rest of the charachters are basically stupid and pointless, the ones i just mentioned are the ones who you will see the most throughout the movie.

anyways when you see them set up the game playing on the big screen, you'll see this huge "STEAMBOY" poster in the back which obviously makes the director a japanese anime fan. which is also why alot of these scares have multiple SAMARA's from the Ring and tons of japanese type ghosts.

So when they all start playing you start understanding the game which is actually quite interesting, and i found the game much more interesting then the movie. The game though itself doesn't have good graphics there pretty bad overall but the concept of working together in this game and this is the only part where the dialogue shined with Gaming References and Lingo.

So then they play and play, until one of the dudes die and they decide to make it a day. and the next day they find another one of there friends die. And the cops think the main charachter did it, and there using the typical "Cops are Stupid" element.

And so they all start seeing ghosts the next day and start realizing that well, when they die in the game they die for real... big suprise there guys. So anyways the charachters in the movie start dying the stupidest possible way ever. one guy stands in the middle of the street... and well just loves to stand in the middle of the road waiting to get killed.
blah blah blah

then so near the end you find out more of these plot holes where the charachters suddenly when smoking outside magically teleports 100 blocks away.
and these rules where the ghosts can unpause a single player game and how a ghost can develope this games...

so then eventually they had to face this ghost in real life yadeyadeya lalala.
and some of them survive at the end and the game became massively produced Magically somehow since the game was made by a ghost....

and more plot holes and what not

i hope i saved you guys a buck...

yeah i need to work on my writing and organization, i'm gonna try and take some courses in college to help me with it.

I saw a clip of this off Box Office America and to me this looks like a movie I'll toss a coin on. This movie certainly looks pretty lame though it does have an interesting concept with the gaming aspect and all.
