Red face >>> Saw <<<

Hey there,

I come across the lands from the SAW forum.
I am a psycho fan of it and thought id come and see you guys's view on the matter.

Were talking about SAW 1 here, not SAW2.

Acting by Leigh Whannel
Carey Elwes
Danny Glover
Ken Leung
Monica Potter
Tobin Bell
Micheal Emerson
Shawnee Smith

Personally i Think its a ledgend, it was filmed in only 18 days at a low budget and was the idea of 2 film school graduates who came up with the idea and plot alone. Leigh (adam) wrote the thing and James directed.

I think its a ledgend. Is there anybody who really didnt like it?

Or any other opinions wud be great

thanks stef xXxxxxXxxXxxXx

I liked it.

Was a bad performance by Carey Elwes though.

I thought it was great. It's not a classic but it's very entertaining and has a great ending.

I loved both movies and are right up there as my favorite horror flicks.

i loved it! thought it was vert creative and original. definately on my top 5 favorite movies ever. i thought Cary Elwes did a pretty good job, it was Danny Glover that didnt deliver for me. other than that, its cool how a low budget film can sky rocket and have a huge impact!

thought the movie was good but the acting was extreamly bad. The acting was so bad it almost ruined the movie for me. But the ending made up for it's mistakes.

I liked it,but it had some big flaws. Sure it had a great ending, but with the plot holes in the movie and the awful acting it's hard to give it a high rating. I give it a 7/10

If you want to check out a true legendary horror/thriller film check out psycho

wha....bu...uhhhhh

Okay if you thought the acting was fantastic then you don't really know what acting is or you never saw a movie with good acting in it.

You wanna know what acting was bad? practically all of it. The only character give acting propse to is Dr. Gordons daughter

But to be serious. It wasn't all horrible acting by them. Alot of them were overacting which can ruin many moments on the screen. And as for the film being shot in 19 days. Yeah good for them, but I wouldn't call that legendary

I though Elwes gave a Randy Marsh-esque performance. I was just waiting for "Stan?...........Stan?......give 'em hell, son.......Give 'em hell."

In all fairness he was even worse in the movie about the Pope.

The thing that really killed this movie for me was the very end, where the phone is ringing and it's just out of Cary Elwes's reach. So he cuts his foot off? Why not use the hacksaw to grab the phone? He would have accomplished his goal, and kept his foot too! WTF!

The acting was decent in my opinion.I just hated how Cary Elwes said "Dont you dare touch them you son of a *****!" then suddenly went "Honey?" in that scene when Zepp calls him.

I thought the exact same thing when I saw it.

Sorry, I don't buy it. People will do anything before resorting to self dismemberment, even in cases of extreme emotional disturbance -- like those people who have gotten trapped and ultimately had to cut their leg off or something, they wait until they're starving, dehydrated, and about to die anyway.

He clearly didn't exhaust all of his options, and from an audience perspective, it just seemed odd.
