Disney don't make em like they used to.
I liked how they accounted for relativity and the passage of time. That kid was a good actor, I would be freaked out if my brain had star charts in it too. Very tense at times, funny, heartbreaking, Sarah Jessica Parker Ah...those simpler times... |

Ohhh my, I thought I was the only one who had this movie in that certain place in my head. I used to watch this all the time as a kid.

Haven't seen this is years. Is it still good to watch today?
Though I did recently see the video clip for Twisted Sister's "We're not gonna take it". Still alot of fun.

It was on the ABC Family channel Sunday afternoon. Wasn't listed on the schedule, or else I would have caught the whole thing, but saw the last two-thirds.
Great flick! Used to watch it all the time, and occasionally still crosses my mind in the "Whatever happened to ..." way. While most of the special effects show the passage of time, I was surprised by how much still works. Some of the humor in it is among the funniest in sci-fi and the kid is a good actor. Some heartbreaking moments and there is a little decent science thrown in for good measure. And, yes, Sarah Jessica Parker in her prime.
