Default What ever happened to Chevy Chase?

I was watching European Vacation the other day and I said to myself "What the heck happened to Chevy Chase's Career?" His last hit movie was Christmas Vacation and that was 1989!

The more bad roles Chevy Chase chooses, the more he will fade into obscurity. He should do like Bill Murray. Bill Murray has not had the leading role in a big budget studio film since Kingpin in 1996. Since then he's taken minor roles in major films as well as taking roles in independent films that garner him the critical praise he did not have doing films like Scrooged, What About Bob and The Ghostbusters films (even though those films were among his best). Bill Murray earned an Oscar nomination for Lost in Translation.

Dan Aykroyd is in the same boat as Chevy Chase. They both used to be funny.

As for Steve Martin, I keep hearing (although very early) Oscar buzz around his next film role, Shopgirl (which he also wrote).

First of all, Bill Murray is just a better actor than Chevy Chase, second Dan Aykroyd is still funny, he pops up in small roles and does well.

As for Chevy, I always liked him, but he just hit a wall as a one trick pony I guess and people got sick of it. Sometimes these guys start to believe their press and don't allow their careers to evolve, which got Chevy stuck in his rut. Everyone bounces back in Hollywood, but we'll see about this dude.

Steve Martin will be in the remake of The Pink Panther later this year.

I heard there was gonna be another Fletch movie. But I don't think Chevy Chase is gonna be in it though. He should at least make a cameo. At least he's still active in the industry according to IMDb.

last I read Zach Braff was going to play Fletch. KS wanted his boy Jason Lee but studio wanted someone more marketable. Braff is more marketable than Lee?? Apparently.

Apparently MGM studios is no more, which is only fitting I suppose.

He's got his sitcom and his movie last year so presently he's the bigger star.

Chase has had a few small roles or I guess cameos. He had the Roast on Comedy Central where he got it real bad by mostly people he never worked with or met. Even if his last hit was 1989, he still had 75-89 thats a pretty good run considering the other talent out there. But I don't care for Chase, he's a douche that deserves if you read what other people say about him.
