Office Space - Special Edition

Release Date: TBA

There's no information on this yet except that it's coming in 2005, but you know you've kept your squirrel-watching eyes out for any bit of news on it. Below are the expected special features for the disc...

Special Features (Predicted)
- Audio Commentary by Writer/Director Mike Judge
- Deleted Scenes
- Outtakes
- EPK
- Mike Judge's Original "Office Space" Animated Shorts Featuring Milton
- Theatrical Trailers and TV Spots

The shorts and the audio commentary were mentioned in an Entertainment Weekly article about Office Space a long time ago as things Fox wanted to put on special edition DVD, when Mike Judge and the studio were still "in talks" over the disc. The other four items are just guesses, based on things the studio probably has lying around and would be easy to stick on a disc.

Man, I want it... I love that they're coming out with this. And to think that Mike Judge was really sensitive about it, because it did so badly in theaters. He didn't even want to hear about the movie because he was so embarrassed that it didn't do well.

Wonder when it's coming out?

You'll be glad to know that the long-awaited Office Space: Special Edition is currently slated for release in the 4th Qtr of this year.

And here's news we've been waiting a long time for. Fox will release the Office Space: Special Edition (with More Flair) on 11/1. Look for the DVD to include a new anamorphic widescreen transfer, deleted scenes, a behind-the-scenes documentary and audio commentary with writer/director Mike Judge. FYI, a UMD version of Office Space will also be available on 11/1.

Looks okay. I kinda prefer the old art that was on that promo at the top of this page. To me, this just doesn't stand out much and looks fairly bland.

The above art is the outer cardboard slipcover, the art posted at the top is inside the case.

How do I know this?

Because I was at Wal-Mart the other day and there was a box sitting next to me. I peeked inside and there were the Office Space SEs that aren't released until next week.

It would have been wrong of me to take one and buy it.

So I definitely didn't do that.
