Question Lost In Translation DVD

Has anybody heard any news of them releasing a special edition of this movie? I want to buy it but dont want to get burned if they end up releasing a 2 disc set (ala Eternal Sunshine).

p.s. please dont turn this into a "That movie sucked" "No that movie was brilliant" post, if you hated it thats fine, Im just lookin for some info!

As far as I know there are no plans to rerelease Lost in Translation.

I think with Eternal Sunshine, the studio wasn't expecting it to perform nearly as well, and so they scrambled and did the full 2-disc version everyone would have wanted initially. I bet had they known the DVD would have sold the way it did they would have released the 2-disc right off the bat.

The DVD already comes with:

A conversation with director Sofia Coppola and actor Bill Murray
"Lost on Location" - behind-the-scenes featurette including exclusive footage shot by the filmmakers
Deleted scenes
"Matthew's Best Hit TV" - an extended version of the Japanese TV show
Music video
Trailers

What more do you want? Director's commentary I suppose, but I get the feeling Sofia is one of those directors who prefers not doing commentaries.

Maybe because she has nothing to offer?

(Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

It's not nessesarily a case of "What more do I want" but as we all know unless it is specifically labeled as a "collector's special deluxe limited edition" or whatever then there is a very good chance that one will eventually be released. (Sometimes even if there already is a special edition another will be released, see ID4) Anyway, commentary would be nice though more preferably from Bill Murray. Also a legit doc on the film as opposed to those 10 minute fluff featurettes.

Not every movie has a camera crew capturing every little moment on and off set. Beside, Lost in Translation is one of those movies that what's shown on film is probably much more interesting than what happened during production (in some cases it's the other way around).

Plus Lost in Translation wasn't the most loved movie by normal folks for some reason (tasteless FREAKS). They couldn't give the damn things away in the Used DVD aisle.
