Default The great O'Toole bashes his film Troy

And i agree with him, this movie was horrible

Source: http://imdb.com/news/wenn/#1

Legendary actor Peter O'Toole has launched a blistering attack at his last movie Troy and its director Wolfgang Petersen. O'Toole starred as Priam alongside a star-studded ensemble cast including Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom, and Diane Kruger in the mythical epic. But the 72-year-old Irish actor hated working with German film-maker Peterson and was disappointed with the finished product. He says, "Ugh, what a disaster. The director, that Kraut, what a clown he was. When it was all over, I watched 15 minutes of the finished movie and then walked out. At least I had one good scene."

Wow! Thats pretty honest for an actor! I dont think i've ever heard an actor say something like that.

Though Ewan Mcgregor do come close when he talk about star wars

Peter O'Toole remains one of my favorite actors. This news bite proves it...

Peter O'toole is a legend - he can say what he wants - any director would be grateful to have him in their film, but Ptersen gave him a small part and let crap actors control that awful film- Brad Pitt was especially terrible..

Ironically, Alec Guinness also was pretty honest about his feelings for "Star Wars." Something about that Obi-Wan role.

Yeah... Guinness wasn't too pleased with Star Wars. He actually talked George into killing Obi-Wan off in the first one so that he would have more of a "mystical presence" in the sequels.

"What I didn't tell him was that I just couldn't go on speaking those bloody awful, banal lines. I'd had enough of the mumbo jumbo."

Also, Sir Alec threw away any fan mail he got from Star Wars fans up until he died. Pretty powerful hatred if you ask me.

He havent said anything directly. But if you listen to interviews and stuff, his opinion becomes very clear. It has been discussed a great deal in the sw forum as well.

Gotta be that obi1 role

I would agree with O'Toole and respect him and all but I highly doubt that this is true since the source is IMDB, their news sucks so much, all they do is report on Lindsey Lohan and Ben Afflect, and also make **** up. They are worse than the damn tabloids.

I didn't know who O'Toole was so I looked him up and if anybody doesn't know who he is here's a pic.

I find this to be hilarious.

If anyone doesn't know who Peter O'Toole is, they should hide their ignorance and buy Lawrence of Arabia forthwith!

Eh. I liked Troy. And O'Toole, Bana, and Bean were the best things about it.

Also, Guinness didn't necessarily hate Star Wars. He was a pretty big supporter of it in the beginning because he had respect for George, who had done American Grafitti. What he probably didn't like was the dialogue and playing scenes with a walking carpet. His hostility wasn't because he hated the films, but because for an entire generation, he was only known as Obi-Wan. He hated the fact that he had an amazing career filled with countless great roles but SW was what he'd be remembered for.

I think its great that he spoke his mind about it, just because they are in it doesnt mean that they have to love it.

I respect his opinion... he is a great actor. I do have doubts if this news is true though.

But I enjoyed Troy. It was no where near the quality of Return of the King but it was enjoyable enough.

I respect him for coming out and bad mouthing it if that's his opinion, but all this business of calling Peterson a "Kraut" is uncalled for in my opinion.

It was a crap film. O'Toole and Bana were the only decent things in it. And the movie proves that there are no good roles for women in hollywood.
