no it is never mentioned, lotta theories out there though. some say he was caught on purpose because he was hunting someone in the north (my guess would be the wall).

I'll agree. The only way they could've caught him would be if he allowed himself to be caught. Makes sense to me.

Seems odd to speculate. I doubt it'll ever come up again.

At this point, based on the analysis and whatnot, it would be a huge surprise if he DIDN'T turn out to be the son of Lyanna and Rhaegar. I think that whole thing is a hint to the fact that Jaime is the one that kills her (since he's been referenced as having come out later than her or something)

i could see it, but that supposes that the franken-mountain beats the resurrected hound in their battle, and i hate that. but it would be something martin would do.

I don't think that the Hound and the Mountain are ever actually going to fight. It seems like it would be too much of a nicely wrapped package for Martin to actually do.

well, obviously, you don't believe the hound to be alive at all, so we differ in our predictions.

Well, Martin tends to **** with characters' dreams, not fulfill them. So IF the Hound gets the chance to fight his brother (even though Robert Strong is probably more Frankenstein's monster than Gregor anymore), he will likely lose. Or something else will happen, such as revealing Robert Strong's true nature. Hmm, that could be interesting.

Does anyone else think the wall's coming down soon? Now that we know the horn hasn't been destroyed, it almost seems certain. As soon as I first read about the horn I knew it had to be used. As the saying goes, if a movie has a gun in the first act, it has to be used by the second one.

It would also release Jon from his vows.
But it would rob us of either Stannis or Jaime becoming Lord Commander of the Watch at the end. |

Oh Ian, they'll both be dead. Hell, Stannis will probably die twice.

Ty, the only problem with that is that the people are probably not going to accept an undead Lord of Winterfell.

That's true. But they made such a big deal about Robb's letter, you gotta wonder whats up with that. Was it just a red herring?

Besides the wall crumbling wouldn't release any of the brothers from their vows as they would still be sworn to protect Westeros from the wights. They are shield to the realm not just keepers of the wall.

I would hope so, especially with all of the pooh-poohing of the "silly monsters" at the wall.
