Wasn't as dark as Nolan? Are you kidding? Have you seen Batman Returns?

Agreed. Batman Returns is still the darkest Batman film to date, although none of the first four (especially Batman & Robin) can't even come close to the level of greatness Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins" was on.

I don't understand this recent trend to hating Burton's two Batman films. They were great. Everybody loved 'em at the time and everyone I speak to still loves them.

Nolan's film was great too, but it seems that some people can only express their enjoyment of Begins be taking a dig at Burton's work. Weird.

I was talking about the first one, not returns.

Nolan's was darker and actually more frightening to kids than imagined.

Batman Returns was jucked whacked. It was Tim Burton devling deep inside his twisted mind and turning it into a film with Batman in it. BB is way better. By the way...The Batman series is the best american animated series of all time.

I hope you are referring to the one from the 90s not the one that is out now

I haven't even watched a single episode of the new animated series because it didn't look that appealing. But yes, the '90's animated series is definitely the best, followed by "Batman Beyond".

Yeah batman beyond was a great show also. By the way Batman Returns was a fantastic movie. I think he said it was "jucked whacked" and Im pretty sure that is a insult, and if so that is utter blasphemy

Each Batman film, except for "Batman & Robin", have been able to work in their own way. "Batman Returns" was intended as a darker, more intense vision of Batman, and with Tim Burton in the director's chair, it was able to accomplish that goal with little effort.

umm this isnt One of the batfilms, but uh, I really really loved the Batman animated series I grew up with that show and remember collecting the action figures. I just didnt like when they went superman animation style, I really like the original style. But I decided to buy the whole Batman vols, and it was def worth the buy. O and for the Batman movie series, the only real villians I didnt like were Tommy lee jones as Two face and Ahnald! as Mr.Freeze I thought he was fit for the role. But out of all the batman films for favs it would go Batman begins and The Micheal Keaton Batman. I loved the begining to Batman it was so good.

Michael Keaton was my favorite Batman, as well. But as far as the films as a whole, it goes to Batman Begins. No contest.

I don't want to the play the whole Burton vs. Nolan Batman game. Personally I like Batman Begins the most but Burtons films were good in their own right. When Burton made his movies, his style best reflected the comic style of the time. Same with Nolan now. I just happen to perfer Nolan, but Burton's are classics.

And the animated series is just incredible.

That would be kind of cool actually. I would definitely read that. Gordon is a classic character.

I actually meant as a TV show a'la Law & Order.

Retain Robert Costanzo as Det. Harvey Bullock!

I'd also like to note that Tommy Lee Jones is ideal for playing Two-Face.
Unfortunately, his chance was wasted on a hack director who made him act like Ceasar Romero.

I liked The Batman, but it wasn't as intricate. Not that that's bad, just not the same caliber. I lost touch with it though over the second season.
