The Batman Appreciation Thread

In the month of June of the year 2005 a new Batman film will be released. It is more than a new film, but a new series as well. While this new motion picture adaptation of the Dark Knight will finally bring a faithful adaptation of the comic book we cannot forget the film that started it all. While people like Jett from BOF have now found a reason to disrespect the 1989 film I for one still love that movie. Yes, the film has its flaws, but Tim Burton along with screenwriters Sam Hamm and Warren Skarren still managed to make an interesting and fun movie. The film's star Michael Keaton (The most underrated actor of the past 20 years) portrays Batman perfectly. It's an almost flawless performance.

So before the new film is released I think we should take a few minutes to honor the classic motion picture.

One of the greatest films of all time.

Great performances by everyone involved, great direction, everything about it is just really well done.

The funniest damn thing in that movie is when Joker and the thugs destroy all the paintings with that music playing, I laughed so hard.

Great movie. My favourite scenes are the warehouse scene where Napier drops into the chemical vat and the Bell tower one at the end.

Looks fake from a different angle. Burton was wise to have chosen the crane shot.

I love the iconic end scene with Batman looking at the batsignal.
