ok so i saw this movie today and when the blind girl finds her way over the fence and meets that wildlife ranger, what does that really mean???, i mean i thought it was set in 1800's pennsylvania.
And at the end, why did they decide to keep playing along as if they were living in the 1800's????????

she was blind, that why they let her go to get medicine. she really didnt realize that the world outside the village was completely different, when it was indeed set in modern times.
the significane of the wild life ranger? the girls name was ivy something walker. if you noticed a badge or something the ranger guy is wearing, it says walker on it, because thats the name of the wild life preserve that the rich guy owned. the village was in the middle of the preserve. |

Here I go ...
The movie WAS set during modern times, the whole thing, on a WILDLIFE PRESERVATION that was owned by the older man (The Main Elder's) father. That's what he was talkin' about with money driving his father crazy. It was all a set up, as the 'elders' were all some sort of counseling patients, who together came up with an idea to trick these people that they were living back in the 1800s. No one really knew about the preservation on the outside, except for probaby M Night's character, if you noticed him at least. The whole monster thing was a hoax by the elders to keep them from leaving, and in order to keep the secret. TOTAL TWIST, but I loved it. |

k, thx, when it comes out i'll pray that it'll be a 2 disc set.
and ya i noticed m.night, he was the ranger sitting on the desk and you can only see the sides of his face, but when kevin opens the glass cabinet to get the medecine out, you can see the reflection of m.night in it.

I probably shouldn't be in here yet since I've not seen the movie.
But who paints the red marks on the doors that sets the whole movie going? |

the whole movie is a metaphor like the outside world is really the monsters because they kept everyone out of the woods so they would'nt get caught up in all the bad things that are in our world today thats why they sent a blind girl (ivy) to get the medicine so she thought that it was still 1897, i think there should've been a back story of why they started the village like what happened to them, i am going to buy the dvd so maybe they'll have an extended 2 disc edition that would be great!

After seeing the movie 4 days early and for free I still don't get who painted the red marks on the doors. And which of the Elders killed off the live stock? And really what was the Elder going to do when it was going for Ivy at her door, what if guy-with-f**ed-up-name didn't show up?

Did any of you asking questions like watch the movie? Or did you just sit through it playing on cell phones/talking to friends the whole time? x_x
All these questions are easily answered by actively paying attention to the movie. How these guys are mustering up the will power to answer these questions is astonishing to me. .__.
