Plot Hole

Can it be I've already spotted a plot hole in Spider-man 2?

Think about it, MJ and PP are in the diner and Doc Ock is after Spidey. Doc turns up at the diner and throws a car at PP (the only man with any link to Spidey) but why? Any normal person would have been hit by the car and would have died and Doc wouldn't get Spidey. The Doc’s a scientist he wouldn't go killing people he needed.

I don't think he intended to kill PP. I think he wanted to shatter the glass to start make a scene. Or he may have already suspected that Peter was Spiderman????? Anyway, I think the writers and director are smart enough to not make that kind of mistake

there is something else that might be a plot hole or maybe i just missed something. how does harry know that doc ock was at an abandoned pier? i read the book and saw movie three times and i dont see it in there.

he never says hes at the abandoned pier i thought, and about that "plot hole", do you think it would have the same affect if he threw a fork through the glass far away from peter because he didnt want to hurt him, i think a villian is suppose to be a little more cruel than that

All I can think is maybe Doc Ock thought if Peter dies then Spider-man would revenge his friend's death.

Doc Ock wasn't in control of the limbs. The limbs seemed to be interested in destruction and throwing a car though the the cafe window would cause alot of destruction. Also I didn't think Ock had gone around the corner before he threw the window.

Mike he may not have control over the limbs, but the limbs wanted the machine built and the only way that could happen is if he gets Peter so he can get the Trinium stuff, so the limbs wouldnt want to hurt Peter, and Kaba that makes no sense as there is no way if Spider-Man was around that he could have got the car before it would have hit Peter.

The car was not intentionally thrown at Peter. Ock could not even see him fro where he was at the time. It was just put in there to look good. And it did.

Wouldn't throwing Peter at the wall with stones and a section of a wall on top of him. make Ock think he was dead and wouldn't the ack itself be stupid because of the risk of killing the only lead to Spider-Man. More plot holes revealed.

Another thing that bothered me was...At the pier Doc Ock, start to assemble the machine and the limbs begin to remove pieces from crates. As the camera pulls back to reveal several dozen large crates surrounding the Doc. What freight service delivers to an abandoned pier? What fedex shows up with 50 huge wooden crates and guy with a wierd hump-back and a trench coat is there to sign?

I think you guys are reading to much into this. You can pick apart Shakespeare in the same way.

Sure, if you sit and think about it for 15 minutes, it doesn't make much sense. But it in no way takes away any enjoyment of the movie.

Example. Why is it that Spidey can beat the **** out of Doc Ock, and Ock survives? After all, the only "powers" Ock has is having 4 tentacles.

Ock's Arms can lift tons and they protect him from harm. It is also Clear that Spider-Man was holding back. Had he hit Ock with his full strength in the face, it would have shattered his skull however just like in the comics, whenever Spider-Man faces a friend, he pulls his punchs in order to not hurt them........

As for the plot holes, it is clear that Ock has some agents at Oscorp helping him get the parts needed.

With Spidey not know that Ock was at the pier, if Oscorp was helping him get parts, Harry would obviously know where he was and could have told Peter when he asked him where Ock was.
