Special Forces community

Maybe they are a few in this forum that is military or well fimiliarized in this unique world. And I am wondering which of the two SF operational groups is the best equipped/trainned, US Navy Seals or US Army Green Berets?

Overall who is the most capable all around. Or are they equal respectively?

The US Navy SEALs.

Se (Sea)
A (Air)
L (Land)

Their name indicate their all-around knowledge of the battlefield. Best equipped? probably equal. At least almost.

But in the world, they arent that high ranked. Compared to other nations SF their are not so good.

Ha, try the Australian or British SAS, according to a friend of mine's father who is in the Army, the Aus and UK SAS are the best trained special forces in the world

Sadly, they aren't as well equiped as the Russian or US counterparts, but we'd take you down no problems lol

Navy Seals are really bad ass, it takes almost two years of training to become one.

ohh....2 years

Takes 7 years to become FSK (wich is the norwegian speical forces) and wich also is ranked as #1 in world.

SAS is 2nd. (sorry to that guy who though it was 1st)

All i know is what they are

edit: and yeah, oil. Our oil reserves is a prime terror target. So thats why we focus alot on special trained soldiers to counter terrorism.

Brithish SAS. was in 2nd. I cant remember where Australian SAS was. But they where probably pretty high up on the list i would guess.

NATO does the ranking. Along with other military experts.
Not sure how they do it though.

I knew something like that would come sooner or later. I dont even wanna bother discussing it. I know i'm right on this one. weather you believe me couldnt bother me less.

And I was a 2nd liutenant (sp?) so yes, i have knowledge to the Army......

I don't really care who is 1, 2, 3, etc... I think they are all pretty great units, I'd be just fine having any of them cover my back! I'm curious of the rankings for myself only, for something I am writing. I've looked at the Nato site and didn't find anything.

If anyone finds any 'official' ranking or list at Nato or elsewhere, please post the link. Thanks.

Doubt they get "posted" somewhere..

I was told about this on the debrief after a NATO training excercise early 2004.

As I said, i was a 2nd. Lt..... I have no idea where they would post such things. If they even do post it anywhere....
