What are your thoughts on Aronofsky's Noah?

i made it clear i didn't want him doing a wolverine movie, but i would much rather he do wolverine than noah. more believable.

i mean, obviously i will probably check it out, it is aronofsky after all, but i am not excited for it in the least. the story is just... eh.

Well I'm actually an atheist. But I can't deny I really liked the passion of the christ. I love Mel's Directing. I mean come on Braveheart!!!!!!

I'm surprised this thread went unnoticed for so long. Lots of potential for differing opinions here. I'm not at all well versed in the bible, but from what Boyfriend tells me there are actually interesting stories from the bible that could make for interesting movies. I guess there is some story about Jesus getting pissed off about whores and gambling and he goes bananas and flips a table (a la Teresa Guidice on Real Housewives of New Jersey).

Anyway, I don't know if Gibson will be the one to bring religious films to the mainstream given that he has suffered bit when stories of alleged domestic abuse popped up in the last few years, but with Aronofsky taking on the story of Noah we might see an upswing in movies with more obvious religious themes or stories straight from the bible.

The only time I like religious movies is when they go for the subtle undertones and don't shove it down your throat. IE Franklyn, The Book of Eli, Prometheus, etc. They have religious tones there, characters trying to do well, morality but don't constantly make it feel like one of those b flick hardcore Christian movies that they are pushing out.

Those movies are actually action/science fiction films, not religion films, they just have a religious theme in them. But I agree I like those type of films aswell. Would like a future bible film to be similar to the book of eli.
