Queen Latifah to Turn Trucks at MGM Source: The Hollywood Reporter Wednesday, February 11, 2004

Queen Latifah is developing a big screen remake of Truck Turner for MGM. Chris Frisina will write the script for the film, which Latifah will produce.

The original 1974 film, directed by Jonathan Kaplan, found Isaac Hayes in the title role starring as a bounty hunter hired to kill a man named Gator. Once the job is done, Gator's girlfriend puts a hit out on Truck, who is then forced to elude the hit and escape the nasty gang. Yaphet Kotto, Paul Harris, Annazette Chase and Sam Lewis also star.

Frisina will adapt and update the MGM title. It's unclear whether Queen Latifah will take a role in the film, but if all the pieces come together she will likely star.
