Default Unsung Hero

Who would you say did the most to really help out in the Star Wars OT?

Wicket - Ewok who brought Leia to other Ewoks which led to them saving them near the end.

R2-D2 - Countless times got them out of fixes in the movies

Wedge Antillies - The Rogue Squardon Commandart who helped out in all three movies as a pilot

Suicidal A-Wing Pilot - The Ill-fated, but extremley lucky guy who crashes into the control station of the mega Star Destroyer at the end of ROTJ causing it to crash into the Death Star.

Tycho Celchu - Pilot who drew off half of the TIE fighters attacking the Millenium Falcon on the Death Star run in ROTJ

General Ackbar - Commander in Chief of the Rebellions Military

Tauntaun - Or the Tauntaun that gave it's life to warm luke in ESB

Nien Nunb - Co-pilot of the Milennium Falcon during Lando's Death Star run.

(Thanks to Tyross for some of the SW info)

R2 - I mean look at all the stuff he's done. Saved the queens ship from blowing up in TPM, saved Padme from being burnt alive in AOTC, carrying the Death Star plans in ANH, repairing the Millennium Falcon's hyperdrive in ESB and arming Luke with his lightsaber in ROTJ. In all these cases if he hadnt have done what he did, the Star Wars saga could not have continued.

He's the REAL hero of Star Wars, and who knows what he'll do in Episode 3.

I'm not sure why people are saying Wedge. He hasn't really done much. Wimps out in the battle of Yavin and takes out part of the 2nd Death Star in ROTJ.
His character hasn't done an awful lot outside of the EU.

Also leads the snowspeeder attack against the AT-AT's after Luke gets downed. Enabling more Rebels to escape.

Artoo does more but he's more sung in my opinion.

I absolutely can NOT believe that no one thought about DAVE.

http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/redleader/

He could have told Biggs or Wedge to "get ready for the next run" but no - he told Luke, right as Vader killed him by taking his engines out one by one and letting him glide to his fiery death. And this is the thanks he gets, totally forgotten about behind an A-Wing pilot, a couple Mrs. Paul's fish stick rejects, and a fuzzy toy that someone won from a crane game. OH THE HUMANITY!!

Yes he did. I think it was a cinema scene type thing with two other pilots AND he had a removable helmet.

Dave definately did not have an action figure ---- poor guy.
