I had an idea for a thread. Everyone posts a song. Then the person below them downloads that song, listens to it, and posts a short review of it, maybe give it a rating out of 10. Then that person lists their recommendation(s).
DO NOT POST A SONG UNLESS YOU DOWNLOADED THE OTHER PERSONS SONG AND GIVEN A REVIEW. And well, try to be objective. Dont just go, "Oh, this is [insert genre] and all [insert genre] is [insert offensive word]" Lets try to be open minded about this. Try to list songs that are easily available on Kazaa or any otjher file sharing program. Try to post a wide variety of music. If you know that they might not be easily available songs, then post a link to the artists website or someplace where they can be downloaded... err.. thats about it really. My recommendations: Rhapsody - Lamento Heroico The Mars Volta - Televators Apocalyptica - Toreador Choose any one of those. I know for a fact that those are all available on Kazaa...

Ok.. I'll bite. I always like new music. I downloaded Apocalyptica - Toreador. Good, interesting intro at first but eventually you just want it to get going somewhere..............and......oh wait.....hmmm.....no.......it never does. The most excitement that comes to this song is some rehashed power chords with a bit of Irish jigg violins played while Dave Mustaine's untalented step child plays Nirvana's greatest hits at a quick tempo. And then it slows down for a bit...reminiscent of a bad Orgy song. Frankly I feel like a mondo dork listening to this song. My poor roommate is in the next room and saying to himself "WTF is wrong with who I'm living with?"
No offense Manuel..it was certainly a new experience. And I dig the thread. I'll suggest... Motorhead - Ace of Spades Ice Cube - It was a good day Sugarhill Gang - Apache |

I just downloaded Ace Of Spades and, though I'm ashamed to admit it, it was my first time ever listening to a Motorhead song. And dude... IT ROCKED! Motorhead is the kinda metal band a punk rocker can enjoy. Ace of Spades is fast and heavy, one of those songs you could picture in a skate movie during the part where all the guys fall of their boards and land on rails crotch first
Thanks for the song Idaho, I really liked it, and look forward to maybe goin out and buyin some of their CD's.p.s. ...I skipped the other two songs, just cause I'm not in a rap mood at the moment. I highly suggest: Vagabond Parade by Sunchild *kinda hard to find on Kazaa* Disappearer by Sonic Youth Skeleton by Inflatable Boy Clams *really hard to find on Kazaa* *if you can't find the songs, I'll gladly send 'em to whoever wants 'em.*

Well I only downloaded "Disappearer" by Sonic Youth because I was too lazy to d/l the other two. :p But anyway, I'll just be straightfoward and say I have no taste in the song...AT ALL. It starts off with potential but then it goes nowhere. The lead singer sounds like Beck but, I don't know, worse? The song was imo was just medicore and boring. 1-10, I'd give it a 4.
I'll suggest... The Thing I Hate - Stabbing Westward White, Discussion - Live Speed Me Towards Death - Rob Dougan

Im downloading Rob Dougan as we speak (or type:p)
Oh and you dont have to download all three songs. In fact if you want you dont have to list three songs. You list as many as you want to give the person below you some variety, but if you really have to you can list only one (Id recommend listing more, though) Ill edit my post when I finish downloading the song.

Ok, I downloaded White, Discussion - Live
Nice Intro. Not my kind of music, but still, I like it. Really cool bassline. I like the chorus. It comes just at the right time, and its... how can I say it? Its messy and trashy, but still remains musically sound. I dont know if that makes sense, but still I like it. It contrasts with the intro really well. Nice guitar solo. Now the guy is singing...no, wait, hes screaming in a kurt cobain-ish kind of way that I dont really like. Then the song is over, but there are still feedbacks in the background and stuff. Overall, I liked it. Not too bad. Its sort of got a jam-band feel going on there. Good stuff. Id give it 8/10 Okay, time for something new. My recommendations are: Attaque 77 - El Cielo puede esperar Ska-p - A la mierda Mago de Oz - El Santo Grial Yep, theyre all in spanish. That ought to make things interesting...

Just got done d/l Ska-p - a la mierda
Right from the start, it sounded like a "punk" tune and I gotta say it's actually a good song. I was surprised by how catchy it was but, then again, most spanish songs are ("Livin la Vida Loca", "How Bizarre", etc). I can't translate all of the chorus but it definitely sounds like he's talking about a girl. Maybe a past love or a crush. Anyway, it's a pretty good song and very catchy. I know it's going to be stuck in my head for awhile. 8/10 I suggest... Basstrap - Overseer Horn Dog - Overseer Busy Child - The Crystal Method

Ummm.....
That song is a criticism of racism and xenophobia. Ska-p is not the kind of band to write about girls or lost loves... Just thought I should clear that up. Its cool that you liked it tough... ![]() Ill give someone else a chance to participate...

Ok I downloaded Crystal method - Busy Child.
From the start I recognised this to be a dance song. I must admit I thought it was not to bad to start with and sounded along the lines of the chemical brothers. Problem was I felt the song was too long and probably would have been better off being half as long. Then again give me a few cans and and some fancy lights display and I think I would have happily danced away to this. My recommendations are Reindeer Section - Cartwheels Snow Patrol - Downhill from here 3 colours red - Beautiful Day Have alot more songs to recommend so please review quick I should mention that these are all British bands. |

Can't find any of them Costa. Sorry guys but you've got to start posting some more common songs. With all the bad news of late unheard of MP3s aren't as easy to find anymore. So please post easier to find songs.

Listened to Freakish by Save the Day. I think I've only ever heard one song before by the band but found I quite liked the song. His voice is certainly unique though I don't think I'd consider buying an album of theirs.
Guster - Rainy Day Supergrass - Caught by the fuzz Gay Dad - Joy You should be able to find one of these. |

I got Guster - Rainy Day
When it first started, i was kinda like "hmm.. a slow song. " But as I listened to it, I liked it more and more. Its really good. Once in a while, I like to burn myself a slow CD, where you can really feel the artists emotions, and this will be really good for it.Bravo. I recommend either of these two songs, both are easy to find: Trans Siberian Orchestra - Beethoven's 5th Trans Siberian Orchestra - Carol of the Bells

Trans siberian Orchestra - Carol of the bells
Nice Intro, mellow, really cool. Woah. This is beginning to sound like Power Metal... Now I know which song this is. It was on Home Alone 2. Im liking it. A lot. Its like a Heavy Metal cover of a christmas carol... Really Cool. I like the way the guitars are playing with the pianos. Eventually it reaches a point where it stars to grow..and grow..and grow...until it reaches a climax, and then the song ends. I liked it a lot. 10/10. Ill definitely download some more of their stuff, since I think its great... Good Job Rabbit ![]() ---------------------------------------------------------------- Okay, I might be going overboard with my recommendation, but I really wanted you guys to listen to some bands from Costa Rica, and there arent any on kazaa, so: Pick any song from the ones on here Those are all safe files, so no need to worry...
