Who will win the Christmas showdown ?

Things are getting very exciting in the console wars. SONY has Internationally dropped the price of the PS2 and recent releases like the Eye Toy and Pro Evolution 3 have boosted it's already superior poularity.
MICROSOFT has also dropped the price in certain parts of the world, and with KOTOR out now and Halo 2 out soon, it's guaranteed to sell PLENTY of units, maybe not as many as when Halo 2 actually comes out though....
Don't forget NINTENDO has DRAMATICALLY dropped the price of the Gamecube, and with games like Resident Evil 0 and Metroid Prime availible, i see them selling well.
Finally, even though it is not selling to well at the moment, NOKIA have released their N-Gage system, which who knows, might surprise us. The fact that it is also a cell phone may contribute to increased sales.

In conclusion, all four comapanys have sound reasons for feeling confident for the christmas period. The simple question is though, who is going to win ???

I think Ninetendo will win, only because of the dramatic price cuts of the GC and the popularity of the GBA SP....
X-Box will come in second because alot of people already have PS2's and with the price drops, may be looking for something new.
PS2 will come in next (not far behind X-Box)

And all the way down here we have the N-Gage which will sell like ****....It will definatly be the X-Mas bomb.

Playstation 2. Because Jak 2 and Rachet and Clank 2 will sell like hot-cakes over the Christmas period. Jak 2 especially because it's this year's answer to Grand Theft Auto. Plus you have True Crime and that will sell alot too...

It should be fairly close this year with all 3 major consoles going at really cheap prices. I would expect the Game Cube to sell the most units because people will be trying to find the cheapest things they can get their hands on and because the GCN is the lowest priced of the 3 that's what a lot of people will be getting.

No ones buying x-boxes. Lots of people buying game cubes and ps2s - Couple the game cube with the game boy and nintendo could just win it.

Yep and a bunch more, I think there are about 30 or 40 titles due out this season for the XBOX such as; Shayde, Grabbed by the Ghoulies, Goblin Commander, True Crime:Streets of LA, NHL Rivals, Sims Bustin Out, Secret Weapons over Normady, Project Gotham 2, Jedi Academy and Whiplash. Plus, I think with GTA not being exclusive to the PS2, new console buyers will go with the XBOX.

I think it's going to be the PS2. I just gots this feeling like they having something up their sleeve they haven't revealed yet. I know it should probably do well cause there are quite a few games coming out for it that will definately boost sells, cause I know I want them and I still have to buy a PS2:

Just heard today that Sony is cutting jobs. Not sure what divisions; music, tech, gaming, corporate, or hardware. Should be in the paper in the coming days.

Odd that you put the N-Gage in the list but not GBA SP, which I think stands a good chance of being the most succesful piece of h/w over the Christmas period.

Well, here's a massive 15 reasons as to why i have come to the conclusion that Xbox will be the top console. Maybe not at christmas, but 2004 definately !!!!.

Sony is cutting 10,000 to 20,000 jobs in "Entertainment" by March 2006.....not sure if that includes its video game division, but it could signal some financial trouble for the PS3.

The only way I could see Sony making a real run at the Holidays is to offer the PSX at a low price.
