I remember when I was 3 years old, running with my friend Laura underneath the beach cabanas and having a good time. That's one of my earliest memories.

I remember the Bicentennial back in '76.
The Big Red Machine.
Seeing True Grit and The Godfather at the theatre. (I think I was 6 and 9 when I saw 'em)
Going to the Drive-In.
Dime stores.
A&W rootbeer stands.
The Freedom Train.
Elvis.
Little League baseball.
The blizzard of '78.
Watergate.
Going to Michigan with my Grandpa.

I try to forget the bad stuff.

My dad took me to work with him when I was a kid, and he took me to see the one computer they had. It filled an entire ROOM. I'm not sure what it did, but I bet it wasn't nearly as powerful as a Palm III.

I remember the loads of horror movies that played on TV late Friday and Saturday nights back in the early 70's, even as far back as 1968 and 9 when I was 5 ad 6 years old respectively. I remember UHF being a beautiful thing because anything and everything could be found on those obscure airwaves.

I remember the many days my cousin and I would watch Lost In Space and Voyage To The Bottom of The Sea in rerun in the very early 70's after school. and I also remember Dark Shadows being in it's original run.

Most of all, we had this beautiful little modular house that had a huge patio out back, and in the summer it was Heaven on earth. One of my earliest memories is my grandparents laying out on the patio at night, talking and looking at the stars from their reclined lawnchairs, and seeing the distant lights of all the cars as they motored down the highway that the patio overlooked. And I remember how cool it and refeshng it was that night..even at such an early age it was one of the most peaceful memories I have ever had.

Most of all, the memories of my grandmother, and her unending sweetness up to the end of her life 2 years ago, and I only hope I meet her again when it's my time.

What's a slap bracelet? Never heard of it, but I remember when bell bottoms were in style the first time around...

Slap bracelets were these bracelets that had metal in them, and when you hit them onto your wrist they would curl up around them. They came in all sorts of funky and wild colors. Then someone in school hit the bracelet on their wrist and the metal cut through and sliced them, and they were banned from then on.
