If Tim Burton were to adapt one of Edgar Allen Poe's stories or poems which one would you prefer to see on the big screen?

Tell-tale Heart...the sound of the beating heart would build great suspense.

A Cask of Amontillado would be good, but they'd have to expand. I'd also like to see The Masque of the Red Death. Their all pretty much too short to use the exact stories. They'd have to expand.

I went with the Tell Tale heart, they could do a lot with that.
I really couldn't see anythign happening with the Raven, because through that whole story, the man is in one room freaking out because of the Raven. But who knows

The Cask of Amatillado! I can't believe I forgot about that one. In 9th grade I had to do a report on that story, including writing an expanded version.

The Tell-Tale Heart. Yeah the Masque of Red Death would be swell. I loved Tim Burton's version of Planet of the Apes! Nice avatar Neverending

Masque of the Red Death and Cask of Amontillado would be my top choices for a Burton flick, definitely.

didn't Poe write the Fall of the House of Usher? Dunno if I would trust it with someone like Burton, though...

I was trying to think of that one, thanks. That would be a pretty difficult movie to make.

Yeah thats a good one. Tell Tale, Cask, Raven and Masque are all too short to make a good movie.
Fall could be done. |

If you want to see these movies, rent some ofRoger Corman and Vincent Price's Poe retellings. They've done The Cask of Amontillado, The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar, Morella (all in the movie "Tales of Terror), Pit and the Pendelum, Masque of the Red Death, and Fall of the House of Usher. Which makes it even more likely Burton would do them since he is obsessed with Vincent Price.

Tell-Tale. With production design and cinematography like Sleepy Hollow, it'd be great. Though I don't know whether or not it'd make a full-lenght film or not.

Yeah, but Roger Corman makes cheap movies! Tim Burton, decent budget, and Johnny Depp would surpass all those films. |

If you were to expand The Pit and The Pendulum, give it more backstory done in a flashback while he is laying in the pit, the ending of that story is great too.
