Question Where are the LOTR bloopers and outtakes!?

I finally found one thing the EE did not have that I would have loved to see: some outtakes and bloopers from the making of the film. Maybe PJ's waiting till the final installment to include outtakes from all three films, but I wish there were outtakes for each individual film. Any word on if we'll see them with ROTK EE? I know it's a long way off, and there's little to no info on what the EE DVD will include, but go ahead and post your thoughts and any rumors anyway.

There were no bloopers or outakes. All the shots were perfect. Like an Ed Wood movie.

I think it should be standard on all DVD releases that there are some outtakes. There always so funny!

Although, you do occasionaly see some 'outtakes' that would have to be staged. They just look too fake.

But LotR outtakes would be hilarious given that it's such a serious film.

I would have loved to see all the accidents, like Orlando Bloom falling off a horse or something.

The best place for outakes would be either on the theatrical cut, or as an easter egg on the EE. I certainly don't think it'd be quite right having them in the EE's main menu.

Some of John Rhys-Davie's outtakes would be funny with him trying to pronounce the dwarvish in FOTR EE when he was trying to say the dwarven curse words to Haldir!

ooohhh, I wish they had footage of a certain elf and dwarf's boat sinking.

I'd like to see if some sort of stream of obsenitys flew from Viggo's mouth when he broke his foot.

I'd like to see a few fake Smeagol/Gollum 'outakes', the kind Disney have done before with some of their animated features.

Bit like the MTV thing (only with less terse language!)

It would be fun to see them (we saw some fun behind-the-scenes stuff in the special edition still though, like the three hobbits insulting eachother behind eachother's backs), but chances are they don't just have an outtakes section is cause its suppose to be a serious movie.

The DVD put togethers probably just figured it pretty much that way. Most serious movies don't have outtakes to watch, usually just comedies.

But maybe they will. Maybe a special Trilogy set of the movies will be sold with even more features than the previous special edition movies.

Guess what!!!! I think there will be outtakes with the final film. I found this with an Orlando interview:
"But it was so much fun. You know what's going to be awesome? Pete…everything is documented. Pete loves that s**t! The gag reel he's going to do is going to be all that s**t!"
(Orli's a bit of a potty mouth, ain't he? )

I can't wait!

I made a comment about this in another thread recently, based on 1 of the reports from AICN during the final week of principle shooting. Apparently they showed a blooper reel which was hilarious. I think the NL comment the other week implied that that could be 1 of the special features that had been held back from the previous EE's.

Easter Eggs are just small features that you can access from the DVD menus that are somehow 'hidden'. They don't just apply to DVD's but that's where most people will experience them. On FOTR EE they had the original FOTR trailer I think it was.

i have 3 ideas about this

1. he isnt going to put any bloopers on the DVD's

2. They are perfect actors and didnt make mistakes they only had to do reshoots because PJ is a horrible director

3. it is a dull cast no one liked anyone so if someone messed up nothing funny would happen

on the FOTR EE, one easter egg i found was the Council Of Elrond mockery from MTV. it was hilarious. if you need to find it,
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
go to the Scene Selection and highlight Council Of Elrond. then like press left or right or down or something like that, and something will appear on the screen, then highlight that and press enter and there ya go.
just thought id put it in spoilers in case people actually like to find stuff like that on their own.

I depends what version you have SOS. The region 2 DVD for example (like mine) doesn't play that Egg because it would have meant raising the age classification from PG to 12, (bad language) so NL didn't think it worth it.

Just keep fooling around with it. It took me several tries before I finally got it. For the MTV spoof use the arrow keys to go down while "council of elrond" is highlighted then a ring will appear on the lower right side of the screen. Then push enter.

For the original teaser: On Disc 2 go to scene selection screen. highlight scene 48 "Official Fan Club Credits" Press down to highlight an image of Orthanc. Press enter to watch the trailer

Go here for all the easter eggs on any specific dvd: http://www.dvdeastereggs.com/easter_eggs.php
