I just saw the Red-Band trailer and couldn't stop laughing. Now, now would've been the best time to release this.

Just got back from seeing this. I've been looking forward to it since I saw the trailer. Gotta say, it was a major disappointment. This idea just doesn't work as a feature film. The movie was pretty much just a series of SNL style sketches about the apocalypse which have been collected into a movie. As an SNL sketch, this concept works very well, and if it were indeed on that program it would have easily become an ongoing favorite. As a feature length film however, the idea wears thin pretty quickly. The "characters" of Seth Rogan, Jay Baruchell, James Franco, etc. all play as pretty unlikeable, in a misguided attempt to be self deprecating.

There are some laughs to be had. My recommendation is that if you want to see This Is The End, wait for it to go to Redbox, Netflix, whatever. Just watch it as what it actually is, sketches. Watch the opening scene, then go have lunch. Watch the next scene after lunch, then do the laundry. Keep doing this until you've seen it all. It won't wear so thin as it did on me tonight, and you'll likely enjoy it more.
